Well as far as a family attraction- I'm all for it! As for a water ride, not too sure.

I know my wife, and most of my family (my parents, inlaws, etc) aren't too fond of water rides or getting wet. Not to sound "better than" but most of my visits to theme parks involve holding my nose and looks of disgust as I pass by a water ride. Most of the people riding these rides use them as their weekly bath--- do I need to say more?

As far as a dark/water ride goes that would be interesting, if done correctly. Disney hit a goldmine with Splash Mountain, but even Disney World has only TWO water rides between all four theme parks (and its located in sunny Florida).

Cedar Point is sadly mistaken if they think Grandma and Grandpa are coming to ride a water ride. Now put a ride in like Epcot's Soarin' or an interactive dark ride- that sounds more family oriented to me.

The future of the "regional" theme park industry is going to be creativity, something Cedar Point lacks.

Obviously Cedar Fair doesn't understand this yet. Looking at what Kings Dominion and Carowinds is getting next year tells me they don't get it.

Those parks all need another headliner steel coaster (hyper) and as such will have a significant uptick in attendance (like CW had last year.) CP does not need another coaster.

^^Who's to say their park management didn't already have plans years back before the buyout? I think the same thing happened with Diamondback in that it was talked about before the buyout and CF just made it happen. So essentially these 2 coasters could have already been planned. I could be wrong though......just saying not to rule it out.

As for 2010, to say CP is getting shafted is far from the truth. If you can't appreciate a year of a small lower budget attraction or improvement (instead of a $20 mill ride with a $15 mill extra in park improvements), much like this year, then I don't know what to tell you except just go to the park and have a good time. Have patience for gosh sakes.

Thats true too. It could happen, but do you think Paramount was really gonna unleash that kind of money on a giga and 3 hypers? They hadn't in the past.

You forgot the land and the mexico rides at epcot as well.

Well what I really meant was "wish list". They wanted to but now are able to with CF.

Those recent coaster installations were by CF, and Paramount had no plans for new attractions.

i absolutly love star light experience but im just saying everyone would rather see a 20 million dollar ride, and i think 3 years is patient enough but im sure 4 would be better

So, quickly off topic but someone had posted earlier about being at the Indian's game and seeing a Cedar Point ad which had a racing coaster in it and thought it had to do with something new with the park....no, it was just something in between innings they do to keep the crowd going and a chance to text for Cedar Point tickets..which even after texting and not winning they send a text giving you $7 off your ticket, which is pretty nice. But watching the graphic of the coasters racing....to be honest, it didn't look too bad.

But to throw my opinion out on what would be cool for the park...yeah, dark ride all the way. Even if it's a coaster with some dark ride to it, I'm down, I'm a fan of dark rides and think you can do some really amazing things with them if you can get a solid idea going.

^I agree, dark rides are great. By any chance has anyone been to Family Kingdom in Myrtle Beach? It's a small amusement park and they have a great dark ride, it's call the pistoleros. you go through and use a light gun to hit targets and you try to beat the person with you. It's pretty nifty.

Put in a dark, flume ride, then take out DT and you will get a new coaster in 2-3 years

I am talking about rides that are made to get people wet at Disney World. The rides you listed are simply rides that travel on water. While I would love to see a dark ride at Cedar Point that uses water (i.e. pirates or small world) don't see it happening.

The two "water rides" at Disney are Kali River Rapids, and Splash Mountain.

The Indians game promotion was just a coaster from built on NoLimits (the video game).
