Once you've been on a GOOD woodie (The Voyage for one), where you get a smooth ride you'd never expect on a wooden coaster, you'll never ride the bone-jarring SUCK of MS again. True for me anyway.

How much more weight loss will it take to get on Raptor, Mantis, MF and TTD?

And for Disaster Transportit will also stay for a long time. Its one of my most favorite familyrides, and my little cousins love it. Also they use it for storage. Ibelieve Mean Streak and Disaster Transport will be with us for a while.
Being used for storage is not a factor in determining the fate of DT. They could easily duplicate that storage space elsewhere, and operate it for a fraction of the maintenance costs.

For those who like Mean Streak, did you ride it during it's first season in 1991? It's a mere fraction now of the enjoyment it was that year. Loved, loved, loved the ride the first year and maybe the second, but it's a borefest now. I've been on wooden coasters half the size that are superior to Mean Streak. Plus it takes up a ton of land, and I remember Kinzel saying how valuable the White Water Landing land was. Based on the problems of SOB, Rattler and Texas Giant, along with the former Hercules, it's pretty clear there is a height limit to wooden coasters. I really feel 10 years from now most of these woodies will be gone, unless they figure out a way to improve them.

Oh, gosh. "Brewin'." Water ride speculation. Etc.The "Nestea Plunge" is back!
(Joke there for those old enough to remember.)
I remember Nestea Plunge before it was called "Nestea Plunge."
How about The Cedar Point Brewing Company? A brewpub-themed dark ride.
Please remain in your seat until the ride comes to a complete and final stop.

my friends mom said she saw something on tv where either tony or tyler was talking about how they like a roller coaster called x

^^^ All 3 of those were made by the worst designers: Dinn & Roller Coaster Corporation of America. I think the Gravity group will be able to stir somthing up.
Pepsi Refresh is saving one coaster at a time: http://pep.si/bTTsfc
amdam - The only reason for adding a coaster like X would be to make TTD look reliable. It was only called "X" was because "SBNO" was a little too obvious.
As far as "brewing", I think you guys are a little too hung up on beverages. I think we'll see something more storm/weather related (at least as far as naming goes). Besides, Cedar Point couldn't theme a ride after beer, that would lead to underage lesbians making out on carousels.

I don't think that's clear at all. The Voyage is taller than Mean Streak, and it's ten times the ride. Roller coasters are like cars. Many manufacturers can make them, but it doesn't mean that they all make them well.

ok the main point of what i said was that DT is a family ride. not everyone enjoys it but take kids on it and they love DT. Disaster Transport never disappoints me when i ride it. Also someone said before that cedar point hasnt taken out a roller coaster since 1979, why take out a perfectly fine family ride.

We can only hope!

I just hope that if there is some "addition by subtraction", we know soon enough to get some final rides. RIP: SRF or CCMR
I don't understand why everyone wants CP to take out roller coasters or replace them. Each coaster they have fills a specific spot in thier large selection of coasters ,and thats exactly what the general public loves, variaty.Do you think the GP would rather have 10 great coasters or 10 great coasters and 7 decient coasters. At this point it would be a huge step backwards to remove a coaster .
I know what you're thinking though why can't we have 17 great coasters just replace the crappy ones, thats actually redundant it costs a great deal more money and time to remove and replace a coaster than just building a new one. They'd just be spining thier wheels and not going anywhere. The only reasons to remove a coaster is that its unsafe,a maintnance nightmare,or horrible ridership, none of CP's coasters fit those catagories. Obviously CP knows how to make money better than we do and removing a coaster is not profitable. The only rides that could be removed are SRF if they don't repair it and DD.
I really hope they're putting in a new coaster for 2010 but i'd be satisfied with any new attraction. I'd just like to know whats going on are they gonna keep teasing us with posts like "somethins brewin" or are they gonna give us something to talk about ,if so does anyone have an idea when?
I don't understand affection to bad coasters. Why is it CP can never get rid of a coaster in favor of something better? Busch Gardens is taking out Big Bad Wolf, the flat-out best suspended on the planet. So, if CP took out the Mean Streak in favor of a superior wooden coaster, utilizing that land, people would be upset???? CP can't just keep adding coasters and have 30 one day. At some point, some will need to be removed as the maintenance will not justify the ridership...I'm surprised it has not happened yet to be honest. Who ever thought, 10 years ago for example, that WWL would be gone? I'm not saying they should yank out half their coasters, but a couple down the road for something better makes sense to me. Who knows, maybe Iron Dragon will be the next suspended to go if they truly have a life-cycle, as Busch Gardens claims.
If roller coasters have life cycles, somebody better tell Kennywood. Some of theirs are beyond geriatric -- and still kicking butt.

I think it will be Nascar themeed and annouced with Jeff Gordon in the park on the 13th.
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
As much as I hate to say it, I think it is time for Mean Streak to go. Personally I would love a coaster in Mean Streaks place similar to something along the lines of 'Thunderhead', not too big, and always fun and smooth. Heck, they could even rename it Mean Streak v.2.0 and it would be fine with me. ;)
Removing mean streak and replacing it would require a lot of time and money cedar fair would just have to decide if its practicle which it might not be yet. but dont get me wrong its a rough n painful ride thats not that thrilling i'd love to see it replaced with something like Voyage or El Toro. we'll just have to wait till its a practicle idea , hopefully soon
I know an cheap way to get rid of Meanstreak. Give me about 40 gallons of gas and a lighter.
