Terror Island

I scanned the first page and didn't see anything. This is a fairly new announcement so it can't be buried.

TERROR ISLAND! anyone else kind of excited to see what this will be like? After the Pirates of the Caribbean movie series took off this isn't surprising. But on to the Q&A portion of the topic.

Looking at the Halloweekends site it says "Located just off the Gemini Midway at the former Paddlewheel Excursions." Does that mean Paddlewheel is gone or just closed for the season? Will it be Paddlewheel itself or back on Millennium island?

Either way, if its like any of the other Scare Zone it should be fun.

Although their are a few other posts about this subject I will still answer your question. Terror Island will be located on Millennium Island and the Paddlewheel Excursions is only closed for HalloWeekends.

-A question came up about safety on terror island, yesterday...

My son was wondering if Millenium Force was still going to run while guest are venturing through the island.

The sound of the cars flying by will give an awesome sound effect while on the island in the dark, but...

will there be idiots trying to get into the -Keep Out- zones?

It will be dark, many areas to sneak away possibly, just a scary thought, and I really hope no-one is stupid enough to try it...

How high are the safety fences? How close to MF will people walk?

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

Hi PB,

Millennium Force will remain open while Terror Island is open. Every effort has been made to ensure that guests are safe while on the island. At points where the track is lower to the ground, safety fences are up (and always have been). Plus, you can't really "wander off" the path.

Not to mention, we have a great security staff that will be keeping watch. :)

So far it looks pretty cool! Fairly large lay-out too.

Sounds TeRRrrrrrrifying! I bet this haunt is going to look really cool from MF. It would be amazing to go through the turns with a lot of fog and spooky lighting.

The low zone fencing on the island is a little taller now and topped off with barbed wire. That, and the entire path is lined with snow fences. No one is going to get over two sets of fences and past security without getting a good beat down first. :)

^ I don't know why you would want to, but there are people dumb enough to go and try to attempt it. We seen what happened at SFOG this year with Batman and that kid.

^And the more recent incedent with Ninja at Magic Mountain. I think Jeff posted that tongue-in-cheek.

I guess I'm more worried about some idiot lighting the corn stalks in Cornstalkers on fire and creating an inferno of death.

There are more than 20 fire extinguishers and the stuff will all be treated, from what I understand.

I tell you what, I can't wait to walk through Terror Island. I have been on the island before a few years ago but I believe that this will either start as or soon become the best walk through in the park. At least that's my opinion
