News: Cedar Point to announce 2007 project on September 7

I like that they were creative enough to have snoopy fly around the park instead of just across the front view. What it does show is how well some good people can still keep a secret. Which in today's media seems impossible.

The media has not known this date before today. I got an email from Bryan Edwards (Media Relations for CP) at 9:54 this morning, well after Walt posted this news.

I would guess that we will get the media kit sometime tomorrow or early Thursday, THOSE usually hit shortly before the announcement. I will post with anything I can.

Please don't post anything out of any press kit you get from the park, at least not until after the announcement.

I can't post anything from the press kit - the kit comes to the station embargoed until the official announcement. I could risk my station's relationship with CP.

If I get any more info about the announcement, I will pass it along. Sorry I wasn't more clear.

Media kits will not go in the mail until September 6. The news will be known and will be available online before anyone gets anything in the mail. That said, do not post information before the park releases it on September 7. That rule has always been in effect.

So you're talking like what time, as that would be about the only thing we don't know yet that wouldn't be a problem with you posting.

So what would make them pick this date?

Got me thinking.....the date is 09-07-06

The next number would be 05

Just something to think about.

OOPS ya sorry forgot about the 8, just waking up here after a double shift yesterday........sorry.

I think they will announce it during the day. After midnight probably wont draw much coverage ;)

Platinum has it's perks. So does living exactly 97.5 miles from King's Island and Cedar Point

Well, you're missing the 8 and trying to make a pattern out 3 numbers. I could just as easily say the next number is 04 or 06.

Most press conferences are at 10 or 11 am. This way, local TV stations can have something on it for their noon show. I would guess the Cleveland or Toledo stations do noon liveshots from the park. I will get with our affialiates up there and see what they have planned.

Maybe they will just sneak it in on another banner early in the morning and let peeps find out for themselves?

Tony,

They may do that too but expect a full-fledged press release/announcement.

They'll want to get the information out for morning news programs. I don't know if there's an exact time yet, but it'll be early. Dragster was announced at 5 a.m. and I would expect something along those lines.

You're thinking of them getting out for GMA and Today? Wouldn't surprise me if they want to get on the national shows.

I'm sure there will be national coverage, but not first thing in the morning. Think local morning news. WKYC in Cleveland did a live remote from the park at 5 a.m. when Dragster was announced.

That's an early announcement. That'll be interesting, and much different from the way BGW announced Griffon.
