That's pretty good. It sucks that we really can't see which direction they're going in!

But we do know what direction they're going in. It's a whole new one. ;)

Ha, that's good:)

I posted this in the Update thread... but I though it deserved to be here as well, for those of you who are trying to draw out the track!

Anybody ever thought that it could be an overbank over the pond?

Here is my mockup layout... The first parts where the easiest for me to speculate... but on the left, Im boggled so I just randomly did something, lol....

Then on this photo I circled a few areas....

^ Very nice!! I hope it will be something like that! (Lifthill + mid-course launch)

As soon as Walt posts some new aerial photos, I can do a simulation ride with my coaster simulation game and post the video on here. Though Im not trying to hurry you here Walt, take your time.:)

Are you still going to do that?

I agree with the above sentiments! Great design BGRooDoG! The only thing I personally would hope for is the track to be closer to the former Swan pond, but I agree the footers seem to indicate otherwise. Starting with a lift hill, and then having a mid-course launch in the straightaway back near the station.... very cool indeed! Keep up the good work! :)

I hate to be an ominous storm cloud over your parade, but the idea of a lift hill and a launch is pretty ridiculous and in all likelihood will never, ever happen.

I normally don't quote the posts right above me, but I'm going to quote this one so it's on record. :)

I wouldn't be so sure of this at all, dj. Not all all.

DILinator, the fact that these supports have all been moved to that area, but not installed, makes me think that they might be the ones going over the pond. If that's the case, they would certainly be quite close to the water, as you suggested.

Well, I'm open to being convinced, but I've yet to see anything that looks like a lift hill.

And here's the kicker part: It would seem to go against common sense to install both, for several reasons, including capacity and cost-savings. Here are the two possible scenarios and why they don't seem feasible:

  1. Lift hill followed by launch - This would be assinine, really. So, you'd drag the train up a lift and send it along its way. Then, somewhere (presumably) in the middle of the course, it would enter a launch section, where (again, presumably) it would have to STOP, then prepare for a launch. This would be a capacity nightmare, as it would require a MCBR immediately before the launch just so that you could have two trains operating.
  2. Launch followed by lift hill - This scenario seems cost prohibitive. Constructing a launch is expensive, I'm sure, as is a lift hill. It would seem that having two energy-adding systems would cost more than having one that would produce enough speed for both. Add in the fact that a lift after a launch would also decrease capacity, and this scenario is also a loser, in my opinion.

Now, I haven't necessarily given all of this an incredible amount of thought, and I'm open to debate as long as its based on some sort of common sense factor, rather than "Cedar Point is always the bestZORZ!!11! They're always unique in everything they do!!!".

I don't think it would have to stop for the launch, if LIMs or LSMs were used.

Does Wicked Twister stop every time it launches? Why in god's green earth would it have to stop? LIMs still launch a train right? Does it have to be an air or hydrualic launch?

Volcano doesn´t stop when it launches.

Another thing that just came to mind: Is it possible to have LIM fins under the trains as well as the "catch dog" (or what it´s called) for the lift?? I guess some kind of modification is possible.

Okay, so it doesn't have to stop. However, the cost analysis still holds true for BOTH scenarios.

ADDED
Also, what evidence is there that would indicate both a lift and a launch?
