A "500' terraflopper rocket" is certainly an irrational idea. All along I have been quick to say that a 500' coaster was not coming to CP. However, a coaster that features a lift hill, and then a LIM aided launch or "boost", if you will, is certainly a possibility, and is well within the bounds of what's doable. The fact that it's certainly possible given the footer positioning is also interesting. It all makes for an intriguing idea. And in the end, that's all it is: just one person (or in this case multiple person's) idea. No harm done there! :)

Yep, no harm done. I would love a 500- ft coaster, but I just don't believe it'll happen with the lack of space. However, they did find space with the Millennium Force.

Well with the amount of space Cedar Point has, they could squeeze one in the future. It just won't fit in Frontiertown. It would be another Top Thrill Dragster if they did decide to go 500 ft in Frontiertown. And I honestly doubt this is 500ft. I think it will be around like 200 ft level with launching lift hill that everyone is talking about. Although the only coaster I know of that has a launch on the lift hill is in California. California Screamin.

It was an interesting discussion to say the least. I've gotta go with DJ on this one. If someone thinks its going to be a dueler (or wants it to be). Back it up. Point to what leads you to think that it will be. "It would be cool" is not valid proof.

That's part of the reason I've been posting in 2007 less and less. Its the same stuff repeated over and over with less proof than was provided by the guy before.

Personally, I don't buy the "low to the ground" theory, but at this point, those people can point to the supports as their proof. It is a valid claim. Right now there is no proof for it to be a wing-walker (or flier, or really any other train type), yet that's popped up number of times repeatedly lately. That's the stuff that clutters up the real discussion.

I don't think it's going to be as low to the ground as everyone thinks. Just by judging by this picture here, it almost looks like the train will go through itself like Millennium Force and Magum with their pretzel loops. Even the "free-fall" coaster might be an idea within the realm of possibility just because we saw that it was patented in '04, by werner stengel the same guy who designed ttd and mf.

It matches all the teasing slogans we've been seeing, so that also is in the realm of possibility. Personally, however, i think there is a fat chance we'll see such a ride.

Speculation is a great thing, (agreeing with DJ here) with factual inference behind it. It always gives that jump of excitement in the pit of the stomach when something makes sense and we sit and think...That would be sooo freakin' cool.

I agree. I like thinking about ride concepts, and how they could fit in with Cedar Point. IT'S FUN! That doesn't mean that I believe that my guess is any better than any of yours. I listen to everybody's opinion, and I think that everyone here is on the same boat; we like speculating and imagining what our "perfect" ride would be. That's the only reason I post on this website... I'm not the only nerd who can rattle off the stats of rides at Cedar Point. :)

I believe my guess is better.
