Can CP cops arrest you or do they have security guard like powers?

Cedar Point has it's own holding cell for detainees and moron unruley guests that need a timeout.

Why don't a few more people answer the question? You know, since one post wasn't nearly enough to make the guy understand...

I personally call them rent-a-cops, whether they have the right to arrest or not. I also have a nice little picture of one that got in the way as I was snapping a shot of Corkscrew's corkscrews

CP security is part of Sandusky police force. They can make arrest.

Cedar Point PD is not part of Sandusky PD. CPPD belongs to the park, with it's own police chief. They are a real police department, with the power to arrest and carry weapons. I have heard though that Sandusky sometimes calls for CPPD if something happens where they need more people. That is similar to a suburb's PD calling on an neighboring suburb's PD for help.

It is also my understanding that CPPD used to be 100% armed officers until the late 80's early 90's when they scaled back the number of officers carrying guns.

My wife's family is from the Sandusky area and told me a story once about a CP Police Officer using his gun for assaulting female parkgoers, and that was why they scaled back, but I have never corroborated the story with a newspaper article or a court document, so it's probably just an urban legend.

Has anyone been by this morning to see if any of the track is going up?

When was that special supposed to air about Cedar Point on CBS? The announcement said that it was supposed to tape on Friday.

"THE Top Thrill Dragster...THE Millennium Force...THE Wicked Twister...THE Magnum! How do you like those apples?!?!?"

I saw them unloading track and more supports from an orange truck this morning. I took a lot of pics too. There is this one piece though that looks painful to me, and no it's not that curved piece, it's a piece that's a top of a hill and is pretty, well, painful looking. :)
