The site has another photo update today (3/28). The five pictures include re-theming of the buildings in WWK, re-constructed Americana sans gondala tops, and Thunderhawk painting.

Can someone remind me what they're turning the sea lion feeding pool into?

I got an e-mail from Geauga Lake today this is what it said.

The plans for our new waterpark, Wildwater Kingdom, required an aggressive construction schedule to meet the projected opening date of May 28th. However, because of the severity of the winter, including record snowfall, it has become apparent that the opening of Wildwater Kingdom will be delayed by approximately two weeks. We now expect the waterpark to premiere in mid-June.

I kind of expected this because of all that snow we got back during Christmas Time, but I doubt people will be too upset over 2 weeks.

At least they can still open up the wave pool, Calipso Creek and the Shark Attack slides.

Maybe the weather will be crappy and nobody will care anyway.

It does suck for the park. Just another public relations hurdle they'll have to jump during their efforts to bring the place back to glory. I've been looking at the construction pictures all winter saying, "it seems like they are behind." I guess this confirms it. I'm still looking forward to getting to that park sometime this year to see how it's coming along.

Yeah In Order to get all of that done, they would have to contact a lot of people in the construction field from all Over, but I doubt Cedar Fair wants to do all that. It's cool that they lowered the price to $19.95 until the park does open the new waterpark. In a way it really doesn't warm up completely until June anyway so by time WildWater Kingdom opens, it will be very busy.

Thunderhawk is almost completely painted, Thunder Falls' slides are being assembled, Happy Harbor reassembly is starting, and a lot of entrance work (i.e. theming and painting) is being done. Check out this week's pics.

edit: I can't spell today. Sorry.

I made it to Community Day today. The event was a nice gesture by the park. A half hour wait for ice cream was a bit much, but with that said attendance was surprisingly good. Thunderhawk is not yet fully repainted, but the park still has a week. Some photos from the event

I was there and got my free Ben and Jerry's ice cream and my pass processed. It was a very nice gesture from the park. The ferris wheel was running and you could see how much needed to be done at the waterpark and the cleanup that still needed to occur at certain points. But it was really nice to hear a woodie screach against it's tracks. ;)

The Villain rehab was called off. The ride was testing yesterday.
The track work on Raging Wolf Bobs I believe is complete as the ride is allready running test cycles.

Yet another update http://www.geaugalake.com/public/new/2005/photos.cfm

I am curius as to what the new effects are going to be used on the 2 new shows.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Yeah, Villain is running the same as last year with added seatbelts. Yes, seat belts have been added to the trains, however, they are not individual like on PTC trains. They are one single belt and are roomy so no worries there.

The park will rule this year!!
