The big shocker (well, if you didn't see it coming)... $24.95. Wow.

OK, so I see that they are putting the WildWater Adventure on the other side of the lake. I assume this means that they are planning on closing the old water park area? (After they get the WildWater Adventure fully operational in 2006?)
Read the stuff on the site... parts of the old park will still be largely operational this year, then moved for 2006.

I have to give Cedar Fair credit, I think this is definitely a step in the right direction for the park.
The layout of the park as a whole is much more efficient, giving people a reason to go to that side of the property and effectively using it's gate, shops, and food stands, all while opening up room on the ride side for future development.

Agree with you 100% Scott. The new waterpark rendering looks like a waterpark layout in Florida. It's absolutely beautiful!!!! I always thought Hurricane Hannah was too crammed and had no character. Cedar Fair is well on their way to making this a quality park. And the price....I'll be going a lot now.
Let's just see if they can do what Boomerang Bay didn't do- provide shade. There are pleanty of trees on that side of the park, let's hope they keep them.
I'm interested in hearing more about the RWB and Villian rehabs. Is it just retracking or are we talking new trains?
Cedar Fair really is going quite an update on this park. Glad to hear the news.

The relocation and expansion of the water park to former Sea World site is a great move. Park patrons who wish to only visit the water attractions can park on that side of Geauga Lake, while people coming for the dry thrills continue to park in the main lot. – The similar successful layout as the great flagship park on Lake Erie! ;) I can't wait to see what CF will do to the current site of Hurricane Hanna. A dream come true for Idora Park aficionados, like myself, would be the reconstruction of the Rocket Ships! :)

I looks like Robots of Mars, and Ecscape from Dino Island will be located in WWK. ANd many of the rides at happy harbor will remain on that side of the park. I would like to see GL move these rides to the rides side, that way peoploe inly have to go over to the other side of the lake if they wanna go to WWK. I woldnt be suprised to see these rides move in 2006.
I think this will be a major success for Gl, since the park is cattering towards families, this is a great addition. ALso with the new catering area where the neptune slides were, could we possibly see the Cayote Creek catering area be removed. This would add a lot of space for future additions.
This is all great news. What I find very interesting is not the relocation of the waterpark or the addition of Snoopy, but it's the lowering of the gate and the addition of the new "lakeside pavillions". It looks like GL is really going for the group sales market.
The RWB and Villian rehab and the ride relocations are just gravy - sweet, sweet gravy :)

The new gate price is indeed intriguing. Does this mean they'll stop offering the Pepsi can discounts? I guess this is kind of telling everyone not to bother to bring those cans - except it's actually a deeper discount, there are no blackouts and this generates better buzz.
With all of the discounts available, I wonder how many people ever really paid full price to go to Cedar Point or Geauga Lake.

It seems CF bought ProSlide Tornados in bulk. First MIA, the GL, most likley Knotts soak city will get one, and I would expect a fourth at another CF park. Which one for sure, is anyones guess.
I can't say the discounted ticket price suprises me. When I went there this summer, an employee asked me to take a survey when I came through the gate. One of the questions was "If Geauga Lake eliminated all outside discounts and set ticket prices at $24.95, would you find that to be a fair price?"
So I assume this means they're completely removing all those old stadiums from the Sea World section of the park? Those hold a lot of memories for me, but this past summer it was kind of depressing to see them just sitting empty.

From having a good friend who worked in admissions at CP, it seems that a lot more people pay full price than what you would expect.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
This is a great addition to GL, but one thing does have me scratching my head. Why the name Wild Water Kingdom? I thought that was in Dorney. They already had a great name for a water park, Hurcain Hanna's. So why the switch? Did marketing start frothing at the mouth or somthing? The name recycling is almost getting as bad as old GL under Preimer. How many Mind Erasers are their? Just a few thoughts
P.S. I think the other CF park to get a Tornado would be Dorney. The distance is about right.
Welcome brown train riders.
These Wildwater Kingdom and picinic ground projects are going to even out the whole site of the park, allowing more congestion within the ride area to be eliminated. It really sounds good for the long run.
Regular admission into the park is now $24.99. Isn't the GL add-on admission with a Cedar Point pass $26? That's practically buying a regular GL ticket for admission to the whole season. On the other hand, if one decides not to visit GL at all than it wouldn't be benificial to purchase the add-on.

I just read this in an article from the Morning Journal:
Geauga Lake's guests are busy and may not have time to collect promotional items, such as coupons or pop cans, to use for discounts at the park, Robinson said. ''So why not cut all of that out and just have a discounted gate admission every time you come?'' she said.
Interesting to hear that about paying full price, Chris. I'm a little surprised, but I probably shouldn't be.
Wildwater Kingdom is at Dorney, but how many people in the area know that, or even care? They needed a new name to bring home the fact that this is an entirely new water park, not just an addition to the existing park. Wildwater Kingdom is a good name, what difference does it make if the Dorney park goes by the same name?
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Don't forget that there are also 2 Soak Cities, 2 White Water Landings, 2 Thunder Canyons, and 2 Corkscrews.
