New for 2005

They never would have used one of those hillside stadiums for concerts. The residential neighborhood on the other side of the hill would have a fit.

True - if the neighborhood was complaining before about a coaster in their backyards than certainly any concert would have caused the complaint phones to ring off the hook!

I too am going to miss the Sea Lion and Whale stadiums, I believe the ski stadium will stay though. I think CF did the right thing to remove them as what they are building now will bring in far more people than what the land was used for in its previous life.

Quite a few of those properties were owned by Sea World and then Six Flags. I can't imagine that those plots aren't now owned by CF. If that is something the park wanted to do (which it seems that they didn't) then it would only be a matter of time before they could control the entire street that you're talking about.

Several new pictures were posted today(2/14). They include the dismantling of Thunder Falls and final demolition of the stadiums.

More pics posted today.

"Crews begin priming Thunderhawk for painting."

I wish the caption said "Crews begin demolishing Thunderhawk for removal." ;)

The official site has made another photo update today (3/14). It includes more stadium demolition, Thunder Falls dismantling, and Liquid Lighting shipments.

It's about time they had a sunny day for photos. I never really realized how tall those slides really were. Between that and the Proslide Tornado, I might actually have to visit the water park this year.

I especially liked it when there was water all over the lens in a bunch of the pictures. ;)

This may be a silly question, but why are they putting in pilings insted of putting in foundations?

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Quite unlike the maXair construction page ;), the GL construction site has posted a new set of pics today. The pics include RWB retracking, Thunderhawk painting (orange & yellow), and the purchased Gerstlauer trains.

Was very Dissapointed this weekend watched the new waterparks for 2005 on the travle channel and nothing was mentioned about Geauga Lake or any of the other things that cedar fair is adding this year !

Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.

Why would there be? The announcements came in November. The park was closed, there's nothing to shoot!

It is so insanely weird to see the old Legend train there. Dare I say that it kind of makes the ride... special. :)

I think its safe to say that raging wolf bobs will not be ready by opening day. Everything elso seems to be going well.

It doesn't seem like they'll finish phase 1 of Wildwater Kingdom in time either because they only have a month and a half left before the park opens. I mean Thunder Falls is Finally down, but they have other rides to take care of and just doesn't seem like they'll finish it in time.

Who said the water park would open at the same time as the rest of the park?

Hey if you want to go down a waterslide in ohio on May first, then you better have a wet suit, along with some battery heating elements inside of it...lol

Or you could go to castaway bay.
