Down for the season?

CP Buckeye

I was at CP yesterday and Wicked Twister was down. It appeared like maintenance was really tearing apart the launch track (replacing something). I hope this isn't something that keeps the ride down the rest of the year. Didn't it just get over a week-long breakdown?

They were probably just replacing some of the LIM's. I've seen them do it before, and it does involve tearing it up pretty good.

I rode it yesterday too. I didn't even notice it was ever down. Then again, I didn't spend a whole lot of time at the front of the park.

It was down last night, and I heard that it would probably be down all weekend.

bholcomb: You obviously don't want to be employed by CP for much longer. Please reference your hiring contract and read what it says about 'sharing proprietary information'.

I've seen people fired for less.

I am no longer employed by Cedar Point. I haven't been in about a month.

Yeah, I've heard about people being fired for less also. It's a bad idea to post here when you're employed by the company... hehe

I was told this weekend (by a Ride Op) that it would be down the rest of the season. I have no idea if he actually knows or if he was talking out of his arse.

Well my friend who works there told me a transformer broke on the ride and it will take a few months to get a new one for the ride.

That would suck, if what he said is true. Hopefully, and I'm sure it's the case, that this problem is just a one time problem, and won't recur in the future.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

Nonsense. This is the park that flies in parts to get rides up.

I hope your are right, Jeff. It never moved over the lat 3 days and the park is now tight on staffing.

It might not go again until 2005.

Part of the Wicked Crew was over on Gemini today.
I'm sure it won't be down for the rest of the year though.

FWIW, I was waiting on the Dragster station this morning with Wicked Twister veteran Bob Urminac (I think that's his surname), and a ride op came up to Bob and told him WT would be down for the rest of the season.

Bob is a WT freak - 500+ rides on WT this year. The WT crew know him well.

I was surprised to hear this on the station, and even more surprised to find a thread already dedicated to it here.

ah Yes I know him...

Yeah, from what I heard, it's basically dead for the season.

Was it the Lemon Chill guy that told you it was down? I doubt if we'll see it down beyond this weekend. They've now got a whole week to get it fixed without any guests getting in the way so it should be running for at least part of the season.

Goodbye MrScott
