First Coaster?

Pro Bob

Mine was Blue Streak. I wish I could remember how old I was... but I have no idea. I just remember I was pretty scared and a couple of my sisters talked me in to it.

I'm sure as heck glad they did!!! It's still one of my fav's - not only for the quality of the ride, but also for the sentimental attachment.

I've just been told about my first coaster. When I was 3, I went one a kiddy coaster at Pleasure Beach, Blackpool. It was a little catepillar and went about 2 miles an hour. However, as soon as it left the station I started crying, and they had to stop the ride for me! Man how I've changed!!! I now cant get enough of the coasters, as long as they are faster and higher than the catepillar! The new one should suffice for now!

my first coaster was the corkscrew at Geauga Lake now known as Six Flags of Ohio. I think i was in 7th grade at the time. That coaster is now gone and is replaced by the mind eraser.

My first ever was The Double Loop at Geauga Lake, on June 1st 1994, on a 7th grade field trip. (haven't actually been back there since then...) My first CP coaster, less than a month later, was Raptor. After that I was hooked! :)

ChingFu33, is Oprylands Rock'n Rollercoaster good for a Mine Train Coaster? It is coming to my home park (not saying what it is because it is so bad, Six Flags New England is just a bit further).

Corkscrew! At Cedar Point. It was "punishment"! I absolutely refused to go on anything but a ground ride. I was 12 years old. My family took a trip to the point, and no body could get together on what to do. So I, conveniently, got lost early in the morning. I spent most of the day riding the rides I wanted to ride. The rest of the family spent that exact amount of time, along with the park operations crew, looking for me. Apparently, everybody was paging for me, too. I never heard one page. So, in the end, my dad, knowing I had no intention of getting on one of those things, decided I would. First ride? Corkscrew! I was ready to die. The ride op said, ".........and have a horrifying ride!" First time I'd ever swore in front of my parents, I said, "Holy s***! I'm gonna die!" He laughed his head off. Needless to say, I wanted to get right back in line. But, he wanted to introduce me to the Gemini. The rest is history, as they say. I only wish all my punishment worked out that way.

Ryan Adams: About the only thing I remember about it was the double helix at the end. I rode it when I was 8 and didn't go back to Opryland before it closed. Overall it was okay, not the best but it was pretty good

My first was the Rye Playland Kiddie Coaster followed shortly after by Runaway Train at Great Adventure back in 1989.
My first coaster at the point was a front seat ride in Magnum XL-200 10 years later. It is still my #1.

My first coaster was the Jack Rabbit at Kennywood. OH LORD GOD DID I CRY!!!! See, if you arent familiar with the ride, I'll tell you that there is a section of the ride that was built with a "double dip". you go down the hill and then dircetly drop again. this gives great air time because Kennywood doesn't believe in saftey (only tradition), the lap restraints are literally a flimsy piece of leather strap with a little hook that just lays in your lap and doesn't do much restraining. And out of the seat you go. SO, being that i was only 9 and my Dad lied and said that it wasn't that bad [:)], and got on it and when we got to the double dip and I almost fell out (at least that is exactly what it felt like), I cried and cried...did I mention that I cried? lol But now I love the ride and get as many people as I can to ride it.

Good question! I'm having a tough time remembering. As a geezer, you know memory is among the first things to go . . .

I think it was at Dogpatch, USA in Arkansas. I forget the name of the 'coaster, but it was similar to Wildcat. Just a carnival grade mouse.

I was hooked, though. Never been the same since . . .
