First Coaster?

What is the very first roller coaster you ever remember riding? CP or elsewhere.

... Ahhhh... Dangling feet, Sun in my face, and wind in my hair .... Bliss!

It was the wild cat at Riverside in Mass. The park is now owned by six flags.
The forward racer at Kings Island (before Paramount owned the park) I cried the whole time and didn't ride another coaster for 4 or 5 years. This may have been back when Kings Island was open around the holidays for their winter lights show. I don't remember if they had rides going at that time or not.
I remember staying at the Hotel Breakers in the early 70’s and I was about 10 years old. My earliest memory of riding a roller coaster was the Cedar Creek Mine Ride; it was very exciting at the time, considering that CP had only a couple of roller coasters.

Today my 8 year old daughter gets a kick out of Millennium and Magnum—I wonder what she will remember in 30 years? :-)

Although I may have ridden a smaller coaster at CP when i was younger, the one I remember most clearly is Anaconda at King's Dominion in Richmond, VA in 1993. It was my favorite until I rode Raptor because it has a tunnel that goes underneath a lake. Awesome ride!!!

Blue Streak,.. woot!!!!

wood stand for...Wood Out Of Date.. sledding is the only thing that is close to cp in the winter the way i put it six flags needs more parks to keep up with the ine and only cp :)
My first real coaster was Python at BGT. We had to wait, loaded in the station for a bird to clear the track. Terrified and loved it.
Big Dipper at Geauga Lake, now SFWoA. Really scary to me because the airtime made me feel unsecured.
I think my first coaster was Iron Dragon. I used to love the Iron Dragon and ride it many times when I visited the park, but now that I discovered Millie, Maggie, and Raptor, only one ride per visit will do.

Here in Columbus there is Wyandot Lake (next to the Columbus Zoo) which is owned by SF. However many many years ago it was a small family run park. I rode the wooden coaster (don't recall the name) that just terrified me. I expect it was in the late 1950s. That coaster is still at the park and still running (though I still don't know what the name is). Living nearby and seeing it many times, it looks so small. However when I walk through my old elementary school (40 years later), it seems so small too.

There also was another small amusement park on the near east side of Columbus called Norwoods which is long gone ( used to be on East Main near Alum Creek). However I don't remember them ever having a roller coaster. I do remember the train which I rode many times.

Blue Streak, 1974. I was 10 and it seemed intimidating.

My first coaster that I can remember going on ever is also my namesake, Avalanche Run. After that trip to the point, my next one wasn't until about 1996, on which I noticed that Avalanche Run was no longer there. Now I know they turned it into a Disaster (Transport), which gives a comepletely different ride experiance, being mostly in the dark.
I still like Disaster Transport, and what I think my friends don't realize when I want to go ride it is that for me, since the coaster itself was my first, it has a special value for me.
This is one of the main reasons that Cedar Point is so special to me. It was home of the first roller coaster I ever remember riding, and it hasn't been ruined by Six Flags, like a small local park not far from where I live that I used to greatly enjoy before I returned to Cedar Point and saw how much better it was.

Cyclist Don, The name of the coaster at Wyandot Lake is the Sea Dragon. It was built in 1956.
