First Coaster?

My first was good old Blue Streak. I rode it on my first trip to CP in 1989 when I was 4 years old. I rode Magnum that same day, so I've been a freak since the start.

"If you're standing in an uncomfortable position, that means you are in the right position because you are riding Mantis!" - Mantis ride op doing spiels on closing day.

The original CP Wild Cat. June, 1972.
My first memory of a coaster is the Cedar Creek Mine Ride in 1983. Eventually, in later years, my sister convinced me to ride Gemini. After that ride, I was hooked. (about 1986)

Scorpion, Busch Gardens Tampa. When we went through the loop, somehow a gigantic piece of snot came out of my nose and got me all over the upper half of my face. Wasn't a good experience when you're like 7 years old.
My first coaster wat Thunderhawk at Dorney Park.

I think my first CP coaster was Magnum.

My first real coaster was Blue Streak at Conneaut Lake Park.

As for CP, it was probably Blue Streak there too, or maybe Jumbo Jets. I remember that being terrifying for the time, now it looks like a kiddie coaster. Its amazing how far these coasters have come.

I was 3 years old when I rode my first coaster, Blue Streak at Conneaut Lake Park. I was scared out of my mind.

My first coaster was the Beastie at Kings Island.

I own you!

My first was the Baby Wildcat woodie @ Idora Park. The three coasters @ Idora (Wildcat, Jackrabbit & Baby Wildcat) were great fun. The Wildcat is still - in my mind - one of the greatest coasters ever built.

Cedar Point is closed for the season. Reason? Freezin!

I was instructed to answer this question since I asked it:

Well first coaster ever was The Little Dipper at a place called Kiddie Park in Brooklyn, Ohio. I loved it of coarse. The first "real" coaster was either Gemini at CP or the Corkscrew at Geauga Lake (they were one right after the other) I've been hooked since I was a little kid.

Don't remember which came first, but definently Jr. Gemini or Cedar Creek Mine Ride. Strange how I was dragged kicking and screaming onto the Mine Ride, while nowadays May os too far away.

Race For The Sky.... at 120mph!

First at CP and anywhere, The Scamper
Raptor in 99. Scared the crap out me. Fun though, still is.
My first roller coaster was The Brat at Erieview Park at Geneva-on-the-Lake, my first real coaster was the Big Dipper at Geauga Lake(Let's just say noone warned me about air-time) and my first CP coaster was Corkscrew back in 98.

One Man, One Mission, One Plot To Save The World.

My first coaster was at the now defunct "Opryland, USA" in Nashville, Tenn. It was an Arrow looper, but I can't remember it's name. It was in the 1980-1981 time frame. I don't remember exactly when. It started my coaster addiction. My first coaster at CP was CCMR. The first time I rode a coaster solo was Gemini. That one scared me to death (for about 10 seconds) then it was love. Raptor is still the absolute best.

Is it May yet?!? Argggg...

My need for speed is second only to my need to be inverted! No wonder Raptor is my favorite!

My coaster fanaticism began after riding the Kiddy Coaster at Playland in Rye, NY. The coaster was built in 1928 and is an absolute classic. It's unfortunate that the park no longer allows adults to ride it, but then again there's always the Dragon Coaster. I can only hope that a large corporation like Cedar Fair or Kennywood will step in to preserve the history of Playland. Perhaps the greatest improvement that can be made with good management is the rebuilding of the Airplane Coaster. It was apparantly a brilliant design that would still be considered a great thrill even today. Unfortunately, it was dismantled in 1957 over safety concerns. Are there any senior riders out there that have actually experienced it?

My first "major" coaster was Kumba at BGT... I can't remember what my first ever was though - probably something at BGT.

My first wood coaster was the Big Dipper at Camden Park in Huntington WVA. (its still there can see it from the freeway its scary looking) and my first big steel coaster was the Viper at Astroworld in Houston, TX before it was bought by Six Flags. My first Cp coaster was the Blue Streak. Its kinda neat though becuase my mom's first coaster was also the blue streak the year it opened. So we ride it together its kinda a tradition now.
