I wasn't really trying to prove or disprove anyones point in my last post. Now I'm going to agree with you dj, trees do make the experience. Walking through the Frontier Trail is what it is because of the trees. The peaceful corridor with towering trees above is great. In the entire plant/tree department, I think CP does a great job with landscaping. Take a ride on Sky Ride and try to disagree with me on the fact that the flower beds are beautiful. It's not like they are knocking down 50 trees to pour concrete for a new midway, it's because a new attraction is being placed there and chances are they will plant new ones. All of the huge beautiful trees that are in the park didn't wander in overnight, they took time to grow and develop to what they are now.

For Skyhawk it looks like at the most 20 trees(thats my guess) will be knocked down. When next season does arrive we won't be able to tell the difference until we walk by CCMR. I have to agree with Djdaemon as well, I really going back to frontiertown to ride Cedar Creek Mine Ride, and Mean Streak, but I love to stop there most of the time and have a snack. It's the best place for that, plus you can hardly hear Top Thrill Dragster from the back. Frontiertown wouldn't be frontiertown if not for the trees though.

Like, maybe for a hydraulically-launched strata-coaster to open for the 2003 season? ;)

My worry is that they are not replanting trees at a rate equal to their destruction.
Not trying to disagree with you in particular, Vince, just wanted to use a couple points in your post to make another point. :)

I'm not going to disagree with you on the first point dj, because I was never at Cedar Point pre-Dragster so I don't know what it was like, but from what I've heard around here... there was much tree related devastation.
On the second point, I guess there is the possibility that they won't. We can only hope they will.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Nice to see the younger visitors (I've been going since 1975) showing care and concern for the local vegetation. That's something that tends to get overlooked in our younger years and missed once we grow older.

Mayor, Lighthouse Point
Yes, I agree 100% Mr.Scott,
Not to mention all the trees removed along the R.R. tracks for MF's lift hill...
From everyone on the CP&LE, RIP Mayor Scott...~
I am here to take the torch from the older (not calling any one old, simply generalizing those who are older than myself :)) tree lovers at the Point. I am probably one of the biggest fans of the Frontier Trail and Frontier Town here. I may be the biggest fan of Mean Streak here as well and I will argue with anyone who votes to light up that gas line that runs under it. The Trail and Town wouldn't be what they are with out the trees. I haven't really thought about this before, but it's going to be strange walking to and from MS and not seeing WWL right beyond the fence.

Yeah, Vince. There was indeed much devastation due to Dragster's installment. And there was also much due to MS as well as a number of other attractions.
Brandon
Yeah it will seem really strange walking by White Water Landings spot and seeing a fence. Hopefully they'll have a tombstone up for White Water Landing next to the fence. On a positive note, hopefully they'll make a short fence so we can see what's going on in there.
