Worst guest experience/encounter?

I got one for ya. I was a lifeguard. I had some lady get mad at me because i told her to sit down in her tube so she would not fall back and hit her head in the wave pool. (Her having too much at bubbles bar) She comes out and asks what happend to my foot. It had been raped because of a sprain. She throws the tube on it stomps on my foot, calls me tubby and runs away. I could not get out of possition to call security. I moved to a new position and she comes up behind me, puches me in the water and screams calls me tubby again and this time security was there to get her.

Well, this guy who was extremely overweight was trying to get on the Corkscrew. Once he realized he couldn't fit, a ride-op came over and said really nice "I'm sorry sir but if your can't pull the restraint over you, you must not ride". Well the guy, who took it as if the op had directly called him fat, yelled at the guy and got out. To everyone's surprise, he punched him in the jaw. Luckily, another op had called security and had him in custody very fast.

When did this happen? I'm sure I would've heard about one of my crew members getting punched in the jaw. Unless it was last year or something?

Exactly. If you want to see a bad guest experince/encounter, just hang out by Corkscrew's entrance for about 10 minutes.

Dont forget about the Corkscrew turnstiles on a Saturday. Stephanie will never forget how evil turnstiles can be. Or at Magnum when Frank who was assalted by a guest at like 11:30pm on a midnite close. Sometimes the turnstile position can be worse because if something got through enterance, its difficult to tell someone "ya you just waited 45min for me to tell ya you cant ride, SORRY!" Magnum turnstiles also has to watch the woods behind Gullivers Grill in the first set of quees for the endles linejumpers that go through there, especially early am and late at nite

Take that and multiply it and add in Freeway and you've got Millennium Force's entrance! It's my favorite position, though.

Nat...at least on MF people understand why you can't have backpacks and stuff. Everyone just assumes that Corkscrew is too old and wimpy to have such strict regulations.

If only that were the case. Instead we get "I took it on Magnum!" (MF is not Magnum) or "They let me take it on last year!" (pure crap). I wish guests understood, god I wish guests understood. In fact, we've even had guests say "But this ride doesn't go upside down, I won't lose it!" or "Can't I just leave it up there?"

Plus we have FREEWAY. "Where can I get one of those stamps?" at 4 pm isn't a fun question to answer. Neither is "Why are they getting in front of me? Did they pay extra?"

Oh well though, it's still my favorite position, regardless. Well, besides crowd control after we close the front seat line.

Actually, it happened a few years back. I remember it was my first trip to CP. 98' I think.

It's obvious that the park entrance has the same effect on some guests that the metal detectors at airports have: it removes their brains.

That is sad but true (for some people anyways)

I think what it is mostly is that Corkscrew used to allow backpacks, as did Demon Drop. In the past I've ridden both with a leg through a backpack strap. I don't understand the change in policy though. If it had been okay for over 20 years on Corkscrew why is it not okay now?

Toasted flying banana's are fun.

Imagine yourself walking down the midway, John. Your at that part where you walk under the Corksrew and this huge back pack filled with, I dunno, a six pack of soda falls out and hits you in the head. Imagine how much pain you would be in. That's why they stoped. You may have been able to properly secure your bag in the past, but not everyone has been that resopnsable.

Sabrina, some people just don't think. You know something stupid would happen, especially with some of the people that come to CP. I said SOME not all so all you guests don't get all pissed off. Usually the people who post on here are polite and have common sense. Its those other people.
My worst guest experience would have to be when I had a mom tell her kids to pee onto the garbage cans on the patio of my food stand. They appearantly did not know how to eat ice cream cones, and spilt it on the ground. While her kids were peeing, she was on the phone to Park Op, and I was on the phone to park security. Shortly after watching the family be escorted out of the park, we recieved a call from Park Op telling us to give the family a refund....umm...should we deduct that from their bail or what? :-)

I'm sure there were plenty more fun stories like that from the summer, but that is the one that sticks out in my mind as being the worst.

They had just filled the train ahead of us, and the ride op was like "Clear....3...2...1..........(nothing happened)3....2.....1.....(nothing happened)

Something just like that happened to me. It was my first time riding WT and the ride op said "clear...3...2...1", and nothin happened. They said 3...2... and on 2 they launched us. It was really pretty cool because I didnt know that they would launch us then.

Welcome to the Magnum XL-200, the coaster featured most on the Discovery Channel.
Guests are ridiculous sometimes. Especially locals. In '98, I worked in traffic. This lady that lived on the chausee somewhere, drove a black Lexus. Her husband had a red Jag. (Compensating for something?) They both hated getting stopped, especially when they were speeding. Once the lady was so impatient, that she floored it, nearly causing two accidents, and came darn close to running me over, head-on. Thank God I had enough sense to dive out of the way. Five minutes later, her husband tried too. The guy at "Sohio" caught the genius, and made him wait a while.

I know sometimes...if gates are not closed and the button is not pushed at the right time sometimes you have to reset it...

My worst guest experience would have to be a tie between:
1)the mom and grandpa who screamed at me because they had a little girl who had thick shoes on and they refused to take them off so I could measure them. He wanted my employee "number" and then they got a wristband and rode later and the whole time were smirking at me from the train, even the other girl with them who was tall enough to ride.

2) The man and woman with the video camera who yelled at me because we told them they could not bring it on the ride and they were chanting obsenities at my employees. They were in a party of 25 and all 25 of them talked to Woz and filled out geust complaint forms and they each got two ride agains. Just goes to show you that if you make a big enough stink you can get what you want.

Of course I do remember the guest who physically assulted Frank at the turnstiles...
