This isn't about the "Get offended by everything" culture or calling anyone racist. CP Maverick suggesting that everyone, without having to explain it, should know that him and his coworkers calling Martin Luther King Day "Chocolate milk day" because the acronym MLK looks like milk and everyone at the company likes to bring in Chocolate milk on that day is beyond bonkers. All that has to be done is an acknowledgement and understanding that some may take it the wrong way and an explanation as to the reason behind its meaning.
Now that we know the reason, any notion of it having a racially charged origin can be struck down. But not understanding WHY someone might take it the wrong way is incredibly ignorant. Especially for something with an obscure background like that.

Understandable. Let’s just conclude that none of us are intentionally being racist even though one’s comment may be interpreted in different ways. Let’s talk about the Winter Chill Out before this thread gets closed like the Rude Enthusiasts thread got closed.

Never been to Winter Chill Out before. Maybe someday, I should go. I feel really happy for those going this time around because of Steel Vengeance. May 2018 needs to hurry up!
This is the first year I should be able to go. Hopefully it’s a good one!

2018 will be #7 for me and my group. Every year it gets to be a bigger group, but, it is always a great time.
Every year I think it gets to be more anticipated as well :)
I've heard it called Chocolate Milk day many, many times, by people of all races. Including black. This PC culture is so ridiculous and this forum is among the worst (most oversensitive) that I've come across.
I'm not saying it's right or wrong, I don't call it that myself. I just don't know why we have to call people out on it. If someone is a racist, so be it. Calling names on an amusement park forum serves no purpose.
I miss chocolate milk, I'm lactose intolerant now.
A ) If people were calling it Strawberry Milk Day, I'd get the joke. MLK is one letter away from milk.
But when referring to a day in honor of a slain African-American as Chocolate Milk Day, sorry, that's too close to racist commentary for me.
B ) I envy everyone going to WCO. Sounds like a wonderful time -- enjoy yourselves! Wish I could go.

Do as you please. But any person who is truly a racist is not going to be swayed by those on the moral high ground who preach to them of their flawed world view.
It is unfortunate the hypersensitivity to racism that is prevalent today in all circles. Politics, media, places like this, etc. In many ways, it's making the problem of racism much worse. And calling someone racist who truly isn't is a form of racism (or whatever you want to call it) all in itself.
Last, to be on topic, I haven't been to WCO in 5 years. The wife and I started going away together to Mexico that week every year. While I hate to miss it, I'll admit to not giving it a second thought while lying on the beach!
A ) I am about as far from the moral high ground as one can get. I don't think people have flawed world views; I think people have widely different opinions and beliefs. Doesn't make either their nor my world view flawed.
(There's a reason I (Obama voter, devotee of Rachel Maddow) make it a strict rule to never, never, never discuss politics with my mother (Trump voter, devoted Fox News viewer.)
B ) I never expect to sway anyone away from their opinion by expressing my opinion.
C ) Sorry, but if someone thinks Chocolate Milk Day is funny, well, I have my doubts about them. Is everyone who thinks it's funny racist? No.
D ) Calling someone racist who is not racist is not a form of racism.

And, yet again... this thread loses its mind.
How about using the PM message if you want to discuss unrelated world views with other members?
I've never been to an actual WCO, but was lucky enough to bring my niece and friends to a "WCO" the week after the 2016 WCO, we got to drive thru the park with an employee and get the tour without the actual Tour. Never lucky enough to get the food or swag during an event, maybe this year.
That was also the first time I stayed at Kalahari, what a great hotel! I'm really glad we didn't choose Maui Sands.

But that's half the fun :-)

Someone make a debate team thread. Winter Chill Out 2018 doesn’t need this.

No one was called racist. Stop inflating the topic and making false claims when the matter has been settled.

Can we get back on topic about Winter Chill out? There needs to be some rides open for that, or else it can’t be that fun.
I don’t think they have ever had any rides open for WCO, but I’ve never been to an actual WCO event.
My favorite night at the park was the evening before media day for the new Gemini midway. I had dropped off dinner at P&D, as they were working overtime to get ready for preview, and the park was all lit and they were testing almost every ride and I was the only person on the midways.
It was surreal to be in the park operating with nobody on anything, it was like a really cool dream.

Yoohoo: chocolate milk or vile facimile?
Either way, Winter Chillout: looking forward to a midwinter fix of the park. Only been closed for a few weeks and am already hitting withdrawal...
remember: no matter where you go... there you are.
