Why would they demolish the ride? Even if the lift hill has a serious engineering flaw that would require a redesigned lift hill, I would think they would replace the mechanicals and keep the rest of the ride to get a return on investment.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I wouldn't read to much into water being put into the ride though. If it is fixed, here is still testing and inspections that need to happen. And there is only about a week and a half left of this season for this ride. As others have said it's done for this year.
(and I would ride it next year, I just wouldn't be one of the first though...)
Currently at x0, y0, z0
I believe it will open, but maybe ony for the last few days. Why would CP put the water back in to it if it was not going to re-open. I'm pretty sure that they take the water out during the off season anyway (not positive on this just guessing) so there would be no point in re filling it if it was not going to open. Any testing and inspection could wait until the spring.
Hell yes. The chances of dying in a permanent American amusement park are infinitesimally small. And, if you get injured, cha ching!
Btw, it's a fun ride as far as water rides go. Of course, I was never part of a commercial shoot. Though, I did accidentally bump a guy on Friday night holding a camera for his family. My 15 minutes has started baby!
