I apologize for the misunderstanding. I meant the ride ops should not have sent out the boat if it wasn't balanced.
Leave the hypercoaster alone
How would they know to send a balanced boat because the water level was too low. It was clearly and only just an accident, that's it. It was just an, oh crap what happened, thankfully everyones safe, lets look into it
Corkscrew, Power Tower, Magnum, & Monster/ Witches Wheel Crew 2011
Once was enough for me. It's painfully slow.
Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!
I honestly wouldn't ride it again. Not because it broke down and has a bad rep but because there is nothing to it. You don't get wet really at all on it and it's not too exciting. Anyone else feel the same way?

You hit the nail on the head. Totally agree.
I was ganna say, corkscrew's lift chain broke & fell onto the train way back when, I'm sure you've still ridden it. TTD's cable broke, still ride it, Millies cable, same deal. Snake's boat came out of the trough. Magnum had a collission, ect.
Stuff happens, but it's been/being corrected. I still haven't ridden STR, but honestly I ride the rides I want to ride and are worth riding. Water rides aren't a big deal to me lol

I'm sure when they fix it I will Ride It Cedar Fair has an excellent Safety Record and good mechanics for its ride.
2013: Magnum Rides 84
Millennium rides 63
Mean Streak rides 153
It has good theming I guess, to say something positive I guess.
You know how they say never speak ill of the dead?
Never speak ill of the broken and shut down.
It's not STR's fault that Intamin couldn't figure out how to do a modern flume ride with boats that are designed well enough to be able to drain in the station before the next ride and not roll back on the lift if something goes horribly wrong.

Who are you to question rollerdog11's astute and comprehensive safety systems analysis? Clearly, he's more than qualified to make such judgments. After all, he was in a COMMERCIAL SHOOT!
lmao well done!
May The Millennium Force Be With You!
When I was riding Millennium Force yesterday, I saw that there was still no water in the troughs, but water around the ride as part of the scenery. I also noticed some of the boats were being worked on as if they are fixing them to new Intamin standards. With Labor Day coming up soon, I hope they have it up and running before the end of the season. I at least want to hear something from the park that it will be in operation next year.

I don't think it's going to reopen this year
RIDE ON!!!!!
never rode it but would ride it once it re-opens. It's a mechanical ride, things happen, it's bound to happen, it'll be fixed, and safe, I'd ride it. I trust Cedar Point....
Never liked STR because it never came close to the ridiculous hype they tried to generate for it (and Windseeker is a close second).
The Windseeker at Knotts is still closed because the California inspectors don't feel the evacuation solution they came up with is good enough. Unfortunately however, people forget about rides like Invertigo, STR, and Windseeker rather quickly. So STR will likely reopen next year - but don't look for any fanfare, media, or trumpets, because management will likely do it as quietly as possible.
