Why'd they ax the log ride?

I don't care what they call it, but could they please get rid of that horid paint scheme on it. That is emough to make anybody sick by just looking at it.

Actually Ensign, I'm with you on that. All rides need to be renamed to either John Mellencamp, John "Cougar" Mellencamp, or just plain "Cougar".

All rides, everywhere. No exceptions.

How about "Jack & Diane", "R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A", "Scarecrow", and my personal favorite "Little pink Houses". These would go along with the John "Cougar" Mellencamp theme nicely I believe.

At least it would fit with Villain. ("Hurt So Good"). For Magnum we might have to tweak things a bit. Instead of Cherry Bomb, it would have to be "Moly Orange Bomb".

No, Magnum is kinda the color of Cherry Tomatoes, so it Cherry Bomb would work.

WWL 2 ? No offense, but it sounds like a really bad pro wrestling movie.

Except for a period of a few years after its installation, I don't think the ride name had a whole lot of cachet with the public.

If/when they put in another flume ride, I'd bet there wouldn't be any reference to WWL. In fact, I doubt CP will ever see a true, classic log ride again. If anything, it might get a hybrid like Journey to Atlantis. That would be fun.

If they put in another "classic flume", they should name it Perilous Plunge.

O.D hopkins still builds flume rides. They are instaling a new flume ride at the new wild west park.

Mike, you're tearing me apart with your jokes. I saw them along with Def Leppard in concert in Cuyahoga Falls when the lights went down in the city in September. The wheels on my car kept on turning the whole way there. Thanks to Ensign, I navigated my way very easily. (sorry no lyrical joke for the last sentence.)

Anyways, getting back to the topic....

I still say build some type of new, heavily themed flume between Mean Streak and Gemini. Similar to the Disney's Splash Mountain concept, a flume built in and around a fake mountain with the CP&LE running through a tunnel at the bottom. The maintenance building between MS and Gemini could be used as as the back portion of the attraction behind "the mountain" where the boats travel through diffrerent scenes featuring great special effects.

Just take a look at that area on Live Local. There's some potential there for it!

I remeber the Mill Race Log Ride was where Raptor is now, but wasn't there ANOTHER log flume ride in Frontier Town back before White Water Landing existed? In any case, I would like to see another Log Flume type ride re open in the future.

Given the precedent of Maverick and the acquisition of Paramount's theming operations, I'm optimistic we'll see more theming on Point rides. That being said, I still doubt we'll see a new flume ride for the foreseeable future.
