DBCP,
Oh, I didn't know that it's a default. Damn, I thought I found something a bit interesting...even if it was something little like the seating.
Also- In an earlier thread, a few weeks ago, I mentioned that I think it'll be a launch because of the lack of space for a mega or giga coaster. The reason I'm thinking it's going to be either/ or, is because...well...it's Cedar Point!
I think it'll have a launch system like the Wicked Twister that'll propel it through the track at about 90 something mph or a bit more. It's CP, so it has to be different in some ways. Think about it: their two launched coasters aren't full coasters. That's my thinking. I'd like to have another giga, though.
"THE Top Thrill Dragster...THE Millennium Force...THE Wicked Twister...THE Magnum! How do you like those apples?!?!?"
What make's their other 2 launched coasters "not full coasters"??
I can see where you might say that about Wicked Twister, but Dragster is most certainly, by definition, a full roller coaster.
Their two launched coasters aren't fully operational either. They both experience an above normal amount of downtime. Hence the reason I'm hoping that we just get a consistently operational coaster. Which means lift hill.
Goodbye MrScott
John
Meh. You never hear much about WT breaking down, and i gotta admit, Dragster's been doing pretty sweet.
The Premier Rides LIM launches in different parts of the country, however.. That's a horse of a different color.

I can see where Leslie is coming from about TTD. It's just too damn short. I mean, by definition, it is a full circuit coaster, but what would it have taken to incorporate some over-banks or airtime hills into the design? [think Xcelerator] Anyway, I agree that Intamin launchers have become more reliable compared to what they were, and I hope that this will be a launched coaster. Otherwise, unless they design some vertical lift hill or something, a lift would have to be pretty small.

Probably another $10-15 million. Pocket change to some enthusiasts, I guess.
Thank you Kinotama; that's what I mean by a full coaster. Magnum & MF are full coasters (amongst a few others there). WT just goes back and forth & the TTD is only 15 seconds. If I'm waiting in line for an hour, I want a ride that's over a minute and a half & takes me somewhere!
"THE Top Thrill Dragster...THE Millennium Force...THE Wicked Twister...THE Magnum! How do you like those apples?!?!?"
Well, by some definitions used on these boards, TTD takes you further than Magnum or Raptor ever could.

I can see what little leslie says about WT and TTD buts thats not are opinion its what CP says they are like SFMM's S:TE is not a full circuit coaster but it is a shuttle coaster which is techniquy a coaster. TTD on they other hand, even though you go up then down the track is still a complete circuit the trains go up the 420ft tower go over the top then come down on other track back to the station. It doesn't matter how short it is.
Bow down, Bow down before the power of Santa, or be crushed, be crushed by----- his Jolly boots of Doom.
Coming Soon! Star Wars episode 7- The Fallen Hero
episode 8- The Republic in Crisis
episode 9- Victory of the Force
It depends on who you ask. For instance, TTD and WT are thrill rides, not coasters, in my opinion.

15 Seconds is short...especially after waiting an hour. It goes up then comes back.
Honestly, I think it was a waste of money to make. (Boy, am I going to get it now!) They had too many problems with it when it first opened, and now it simply takes too long to ride it. Not to mention that I didn't appreciate being stuck on it for 20 minutes while they had to reset the system!!!
To Me, a FULL coaster takes you on a little tour! Not back and forth or up/ down- back to the station.
They ARE coasters because of their tracks and layout, but not complete ones TO ME. The Wicked Twister & the TTD are quickies! I don't do quickies! LOL
That's why I'm looking forward to this new one: It's obviously going to be a bit of a tour!
"THE Top Thrill Dragster...THE Millennium Force...THE Wicked Twister...THE Magnum! How do you like those apples?!?!?"
I've said it before, I'll say it again,
TTD is a mediocre coaster (at best) but a pretty good thrill ride.
Wicked Twister is one of my favorite rides at the park (behind only Magnum and Raptor, which are 1-2, 2-1 depending on my mood). The second to last row is one of the best in the park.

I agree, Leslie. That's why I love the Beast so incredibly much - the layout, length and overall experience is almost perfect.
Brandon
djdaemon,
I agree completely. They're thrill rides....
"THE Top Thrill Dragster...THE Millennium Force...THE Wicked Twister...THE Magnum! How do you like those apples?!?!?"
Do you know that I've never been on the Beast?? I've only been there one time! I went on the Vortex, but not the Beast.
Jugga- I do LOVE the Wicked Twister...even better than the TTD. The best seat on the WT is near the back, too! It's scary.
But my very favorite is the Millennium Force...that's a bad boy!

I know, what the hell? :-)
I was about....12 at the time, I think. I didn't know any better! :-)

Yeah, I suppose, but geez.
Well, its not going anywhere soon, so I imagine you'll have another chance in the future.

Then, by that logic, Woodstock Express and Junior Gemini are not coasters either. They barely have a circuit and are very short. I think you may want to re-think your definition of what a coaster is.
