Why is this not a possibility?

Intamin Mega's and the new ride at CP have so many similarities. Look

Look at the footers under the lift hill. They are in the same arrangement as P 2007's

Interesting. Perhaps it will be a mega coaster with wing-walker, if you look at the supports on P07's, they seem taller than Goliaths, allowing the wings their room, could be launched, never know. Good thinking though.

what you are saying is a possiblity, but remember one thing, its Intamin. I always found Intamin's roller coasters to be the most confusing. i was never able to tell what an Intamin roller coaster was going to be just by looking at footers, supports, and track (except for Kingda Ka, mostly because i followed TTD construction so closely). all i'm saying is to keep an open mind about this ride, and just because its at Cedar Point doesnt mean it has to be tall and fast. don't stop making guesses, but dont make them too crazy.

It's not a wingwalker. Intamin said they are building two prototypes in 2007. Both are in Europe. At least, that's what I think they said. So don't get your hopes up.

If Cedar Point is not saying anything, I doubt very much that Intamin would give away anything that could indicate what CP is building. They would probably like to keep Cedar Fair as a client and not piss them off.

I like the idea of a mega wingwalker...

That would be pretty sweet if it was a mega wingwalker. I would be first in line to ride.

I've only heard of one confimed wingwalker, in spain, so it could be a possibility, but I doubt it.

The further they go with the footers and support construction, the more and more it points to a launch coaster that will hug the ground.

I don't think that another Intamin hyper/giga/mega/whatever [2-across trains with tri-track] would go over too well. They've already got MF, so why would they build another coaster with the same design and function? The launch/ground-hugging idea seems the most plausible at this point. Maybe a lift? Also, the wingwalker trains are a distinct possibility, as they are designed for use on launched/ground-hugging track designs. Just because Intamin hasn't announced an american wingwalker doesn't mean that it won't happen. After all, CP is keeping plenty of secrets from us, so why wouldn't Intamin?

PS: Is it wingwalker or windwalker? I've heard plenty of both

You're right, I'm not riding this thing because it has tri-track. WHAT?

I was making a point that SROS, Goliath, Expedition GeForce, MF, and so on are all similar in design and layout [big/steep first drop, over-banked curves, airtime hills, etc.] They've already got MF, so why would CP want something so similar? one would only detract from the other. I just mentioned the tri-track to clarify the type of ride I was talking about. Who cares what shape the track is? I have to laugh at your comment, though.

ok then..it IS wingwalker

True, but nevertheless there are things we can rule out.

Honestly, I hope I'm not breaking any rules as this is only my second or third post here, but when I looked at a recent picture of the construction site, it appears that it could be a partially upward launched coaster, because it doesn't go upward that much and the supports are closer together. http://i7.tinypic.com/20szj82.jpg
