Why is this not a possibility?

I don't think that another Intamin hyper/giga/mega/whatever [2-across trains with tri-track] would go over too well. They've already got MF, so why would they build another coaster with the same design and function? The launch/ground-hugging idea seems the most plausible at this point. Maybe a lift? Also, the wingwalker trains are a distinct possibility, as they are designed for use on launched/ground-hugging track designs. Just because Intamin hasn't announced an american wingwalker doesn't mean that it won't happen. After all, CP is keeping plenty of secrets from us, so why wouldn't Intamin?

PS: Is it wingwalker or windwalker? I've heard plenty of both

MF isnt a ground hugging ride. The closest it gets is like 10 or 15ft. Voyage is a ground hugging ride. Nemesis, ground hugger. Whizzer at Great America. MF? Not even. Plus hopefully CP has realized that bigger is not better and you can get alot more from a sweet, intense quality ride of midsize than you can of large, weak rides.

????????sigh????

What do you mean bigger isn't better. MF is big and is the number one coaster in the world. I will agree that medium size rides can put out a thrill but nothing compares to going down a 300ft hill as you gravitate above your seat going at insane speeds.

Bigger is always better...in many cases. But the Millennium Force makes its presence at that park. Wherever you look, you see a hill of MF...which is why it's my favorite. ;-)

Bigger can be better in the case of MF. It can also not be better, as seen with TTD.

But anyway, I think a Mega (at least in terms of 200+ feet) is basically out of the question now with the corkscrews. If they weren't so small, maybe, but it would have to lose some serious speed by the time it got to the corkscrews. Maybe a Walibi Goliath-sized one, as that's only 150 feet or so, but I still have a gut feeling (as I have for a few months now) that this ride won't go over 100 feet.

Touche' with the comment about TTD. Bigger wasn't necessarily better with that...in MY opinion.

I think this one might, at least, be close to 200 feet.

Leslie - Bigger is seldom better. Easier to market? Yeah, but that's about it. More visible? Yep, but not always better. There is a very big difference between a bigger coaster and a better coaster, and the two are not mutually inclusive. There are coasters that are bigger than Maggie that are not better - MF, for example (but then again, that's a subjective comment and will be met with quite a lot of ridiculous replies).*

Thriller - MF is actually The #2 Steel Roller Coaster in the World.**

Aphelion - One thing that I've noticed is that a lot of the same people who don't think this will be a tall coaster seem convinced that it's top speed will be somewhere in the 70-90mph neighborhood.*** It's important to note that Maggie is 205' tall with a top speed of 72mph. So, how could a coaster that is faster than that (which is equivalent to being over 205' tall) be too fast for those elements?****

*Disclaimer #1: Sorry for disagreeing with you, as I know it really bothers you. Its important to note that while I don't agree with you, I don't have a secretive vendetta to destroy you, contrary to your opinion that everyone who disagrees with you hates, loathes and despises you, and wants nothing more than your complete and total destruction.
**Disclaimer #2: ;)
***Disclaimer #3: I am not directing this comment at you, but rather using your comment as an example of those in the "too fast..." camp.
****Disclaimer #4: I am not saying that I think this ride will be in the 200' neighborhood, because I don't believe it will.

lol, although I dont think it'll go 70mph, I do think it'll be up in that area. I dont think it'll be 200 feet, but I do think it'll be near there.
Never know what's possible, especially when we're dealing with LIMs.

First off- you & I agreed not to reply to each other's posts- which you've done on more than on occasion since. Second- I don't care if someone doesn't agree with me, only when they don't like when I give my opinion & accuse me of not liking when someone doesn't agree with me. Third- I actually like the Magnum better than the Millinneum Force; maybe because it was my first big roller coaster I rode on when I was 13; so, IN MY OPINION, that wasn't the case with the bigger is better deal - to me.

You make a contridictory comment about attacking me or what not, but you put a comment about "met with quite a lot of ridiculous replies." Let it go, djDaemon.

BTW, I respect your opinion that you don't feel bigger is better. That's what you, djDaemon, believe. Do the same for me, aye?

Leslie - that "ridiculous" comment was not directed at you - I merely used your comment as the basis for my comment. If you think that means I'm attacking you, then you need to get a grip.

And I'm not going to ignore your posts just because you don't like to hear someone with a different opinion.

And how in the name of all that is holy did my post indicate that I don't respect your opinion regarding bigger/better??????

No, sweetie. Someone's just being a bit of a bully, that's all. :-)

"THE Top Thrill Dragster...THE Millennium Force...THE Wicked Twister...THE Magnum! How do you like those apples?!?!?"

Did we NOT agree to not respond to each other's posts?? Yes, we did.

You think that I don't like when anyone disagrees with me, but that's ridiculous. You just come across as being an a$$ when you respond. You can't let anyone have an opinion & everything you say has to be gold. You disagree with what anyone says, then you make a wise-guy comment to go along with it.

I don't care if you disagree with me, because many times I end up agreeing with a lot of people on here when I look at things from a different angle. It's all about being open-minded. I don't know where you got the idea that I don't like when people disagree with me...but it's stupid. Again: I DON'T CARE IF SOMEONE DISAGREES WITH ME!!! I DON'T CARE!!!!!!! Not everyone is going to agree with each other on anything in life. That's what makes us all unique!!! I'm done with this adolescent BS with you.

Leslie - If you don't like the way that I respond, fine. But I try to make an effort to present my points of view with reasonable thought and, where applicable, facts. I get bothered when someone disagrees with a well though point (whether its mine or someone else's) by rabidly contradicting the idea, with NO relevant explanation. And I don't do this without cause, rhyme or reason, contrary to whatever you may think. I do this because I like to see both sides of the coin, and assume others do as well, but what's the point of looking at both sides when only one makes any sense? So, I try and get someone to support their ideas with facts, as it benefits everyone.

So, yes, I do hold well-structured and thoughtful opinions higher than those that are based simply on "because I said so" reasoning - even if they're mine. Call me crazy, call me mean. But don't expect me to simply ignore you if you say something I don't agree with just because you only get along with the members who say stuff like "Grate post Leslie!!!1!!11!" Not gonna happen.

And, once more, where in my post (6:49AM) did I disrespect your opinion?

I dont want to get involved here. but Leslie and dj you both are going to get warning points if dont get back on topic.
