I loved Apollo's Chariot so much that Nitro is next on my to do list. My vote goes to B&M. Jeff, how does Nitro compare to AC?

Yeah, as soon as the park can make back the cost of a $15 million ride in two seasons...

I can say one thing...

I don't want an S&S Arrow! Magnum is a nice coaster, but I don't think it should be as rough as it is in some parts. I blame this on their track design. Look at it compared to a B&M or a Giovanola. Arrow's trains are all inside the track With the exception of Iron Dragon. That would have been hard to do with the inside track design. I think this design causes some of the roughness. However, I like the restraints on Magnum. They are comfortable if you don't get stapled. That restraint with the hydraulics Intamin uses instead of the clicker things and Intamin seats would make a great train...

Back to the track. B&M and Giovanola use the track where the wheels go around the outside of the track. I think this provides a smoother ride overall.

I think Cedar Fair is going to stick with Intamin for a hyper. MF was amazing. They aren't experiencing problems with it and it is just as smooth of a ride as the day it opened.

I cannot prove my track design theory because Iron Dragon is a rough ride at parts, but not as bad as CorkScrew or Magnum. Maybe it's just Arrow's designers. I'll be interested to see what turns out of X in the years to come. That is...if it doesn't get torn down because of reliability issues before that time.

I think GL should get a nice big Intamin. Something around MF's height, but not as high. Maybe longer though. GL has the room. And CF has the money...I think.

A B&M would also be great. Never been on the Giovanolas, but I hear they are great, but do they have some kind of deal with Six Flags, or are they just some company that does lots of other things and builds coasters as a side job? Maybe a side job company isn't the best idea.

I'm sure the ride will be great. No doubt about it. It's probably the second best CF park, after CP. Possibly a tie with Knott's Berry Farm. I trust CF in building a quality ride for the second largest park in Ohio.

Phantom's Revenge and Steel Force are smooth rides Both are built byMorgan who's wheel assemblies are on the inside as Arrows are.
In my opinion, it would do Geauga Lake no good to build a smaller version of Millennium Force to try to draw people to the park. I know that the layout could be totally different, but I know that people would still come away thinking that they just rode a smaller version of MF.

I think that the park needs to make additions that set itself apart from Cedar Point, not mimick rides from its sister park. With this said, the only choices for a company that would build a hyper would be Morgan or B&M. I seriously doubt Morgan because they don't offer a design radically different from Magnum. This would leave us with B&M.

This seems like the most logical choice since there are only a handful of B&M hypers, and none within several hundred miles from the park. This would also add another B&M to the slew [two confirmed] that Cedar Fair is purchasing for next season. I have a feeling that B&M will be having a good year next year...perhaps a year paralleled only to 1999.

I am being serious Is their even plans to build a hyper their because if not I dont understand why we keep talking about it.

Yes they have plans on building a hyper.. all of our talk is based by a statement the new GM of Geauga Lake made I will find the link and edit this post to put it in here

I find it funny when people complain about a coaster being constructed from a company he or she dislikes. Yet, after it's opening day the majority of these naysayers claim the coaster to be outstanding.

I'm thinking more along the lines of illiterish.

To add something to the topic, consider this, this, and this. You tell me who should build the hyper.

If anyone's worried about restraint problems, just make sure to order the TTD seats/restraints, minus the headrest. *** Edited 8/6/2004 8:17:59 PM UTC by mantis_man***

I personally would want B&M to build Geauga Lake's Hyper. Partly because I like the Raptor, and also because I know B&M makes "big boy" seats, for those of us who are GOES. Intamin makes great coasters, however they don't understand the concept that Americans are a little bigger.
Huggy, I am currently dieting. I have lost a total of 40 lbs. It's still coming off. I may not be able to make it on TTD or Millenium Force, but I'm working to be able to get on it.
Correct me if im wrong, but I thought that TTD's seats were pretty much the same as MF's(despite some very minor changes), plus the headreast.

Coaster Count: 147

You are wrong, TTD's seats are considerably deeper than MF's, with better support on the sides also (I believe the sides of the seats were in question with the S:ROS incident). That, and TTD's lap bar is the bent version while MF has a straight one.

B&M is the way to go for GL. They are always reliable and I just think that a B&M would fit in best with the atmosphere of the park.
