Who Should Design Geauga Lake's Hyper?

Who do you people think should design Geauga Lake's Hyper? I know Intamin is a big name as well as B&M, what do you guys think?
I think B&M should design the GL hyper, at least everyone will beable to ride, and they have so much trouble with Intamin.
A B&M hyper would be unique for the area ("It seats 4 across! 4, count 'em, 4 across!"), and they make a damn good ride.

Morgan wouldn't be bad either, if

a) they're still in the game, and

b) they can pull another Phantom's Revenge out of their bag of tricks.

Who would it actually be, if GL gets one? I'd bet on B&M, but time will tell.

Having been on one B&M hyper, one Morgan Hyper, and one Arrow hyper, I would have to put my vote in for the B&M. Nitro just gave a better ride experience (speed, smoothness, comfortable air) than Steel Force (No intensity at all) and Magnum (Starting to show it's age).

I'm wishing for a classic hyper, so I'm going for [S&S] Arrow or Morgan. But a Intamin or B&M wouldn't be that bad, with whatever company I'm sure it will be good.
I love B&M mega coasters, especially Apollo's Chariot. They are very smooth, yet deliver a powerful ride.

What about Togo? Manhattan Express in Las vegas is an interesting hyper. It has inversions and isn't an out and back which would be a nice change for the area. It would be something different.
Have you ridden Manhattan Express? I found it to be very rough and shaky. The only part I really enjoyed was the heartline roll. It's not terrible, but I dont think Togo would be a good choice for Geauga Lake.

Why not? I wouldn't mind seeing something familiar to a Manhattan Express. It would draw crowds because there is nothing like it around (Even at Cedar Point). But if you insist to keep Togo (which I never said I liked) out of the question, I would have to go with a Giovanola. If Cedar Fair is about variety, than i think it is time for something different.

Think about it, how many Giovanola Mega coasters are there? There are 2 (Titan and Goliath). They seem to be great rides and get pretty good reviews. I'm not saying to make a mirror image of the two but something with a twist. Giovanola roller coasters are always twisted which is something that Geauga Lake needs. It still can have great airtime, but keeping the hyper from being an out and back would be a great move.

A Bolliger and Mabillard speed coaster wouldn't be bad but they are all out and backs. I not saying that they couldn't build a twisted hyper but something different like a Giovanola would be great and unique.

Isn't Morgan and Arrow Dynamics the same company?

But I would bet on anyone besides intamin. Although it would probably the best coaster (Intamin has a hyper and a giga ranked 1 and 2 in the world), I don't see Cedar Fair working with Intamin for a while, since TTD's problem and some *cough* recent incidents *cough*. *** Edited 7/18/2004 3:39:57 AM UTC by Topthrill420***

I agree that Giovanola would be a good choice (Goliath, in my opinion, delivers a great ride experience). I think I read somewhere that Giovanola got out of the coaster buisness though http://www.coastergallery.com/2001/T30.html
So I would have to say either B&M or Arrow/S&S. I think a coaster like Raging Bull would be great at Geauga Lake. I doubt that Cedar Fair would build another Intamin coaster, as said earlier, but hey, you never know what will happen. *** Edited 7/18/2004 4:22:40 AM UTC by TopThrill420120***

According to when I talked to Bill Spehn the other day, they are talking to B&M and Morgan. I personally find B&M's hypers to be boring & TOO smooth. I enjoy intensity, and the "not knowing what to expect next" type sensations. Where as on Nitro, the "comfortable air" doesn't do it for me. I seriously would even prefer Wild Thing at Valleyfair! to Nitro. Although the second half of Wild Thing is the most wasteful use of track on this planet due to the extremely HEAVY braking on the Midcourses, the first half is nice. And it automatically beats out Nitro (yawn).

I *have* heard they are leaning toward B&M though, and that the layout is supposedly "unique" to that of other hypers & conforms to the layout of the park somewhat. But I didn't hear that from Mr. Spehn. He was very limited in his words. Not a WORD about Intamin though...sadly...

Dana Morgan sold out to Micheal Chance, thus forming Chance Morgan. Morgan's designer Steve Okomoto has gone out on his own. Arrow was sold to S&S power.

Dana Morgan's father was cofounder of Arrow Dynamics, but the companies themselves were never connected. *** Edited 7/18/2004 2:28:54 PM UTC by Dutchman***

Wait, is Geauga Lake getting a hyper for sure? If so I would want a B&M or an Intamin probably more to the Intamin though because alot of TTDs problems arent Intamins fault, and anyway Millenium Force rocks! Wouldnt you love to see a smaller version of Millenium Force? But either of the two would be great rides.

I heard that Giovanola has stopped makeing coasters. Claiming it wasn't profitable enough, anyone know more?

If I recall they built two here in the USA, both of them for Six Flags. Need I say more?
They probably did. There coasters were great. I'm sure if Giovanola stuck to building them than they would become very popular and they would get many more customers.

Who's fault were they then? .....Cedar Point's?
