Which sections of the park could use a refresh?

I'd like to understand their grammar first....... :P

In all seriousness redsfan, I don't see this "hate" you're going on about (and feel necessary to bring up when the discussion is not concerning it). What I see is people posting their ideas and opinions regarding the ride. It's cool you like Mean Streak and all but that alone isn't going to change the minds of those who just can't find a reason to enjoy it. And your ranting about non issues isn't helping your side of the discussion.

I just think you're getting a little too worked up over what a few posters are saying. It's not like anything being posted is happening for real.......it's just harmless discussion.

Here's another thing to think about. My favorite ride is Dragster and it's still hated by some. But I don't let every negative comment about Dragster get to me. Sometimes it's best to just let it go. Everyone has their own opinion.

I've said it before - the former Oceana. Like the turnpike cars, kids can do that themselves. Hence the demise of the cars. It's just an eyesore and it's pointless.

Oceana is where All-Wheels extreme takes place and that's the parks most popular show.

Yeah, All Wheels Extreme is a very good show. If you've overlooked it Brian, you should go see it, you'll probably enjoy it.

I do plan on seeing AWE this year. I've seen parts of it while in line for Wicked Twister in the past. I wish some live entertainment options were available opening weekend since I'll be there that whole weekend, but most don't start until Memorial Day weekend.

AWE is very entertaining. I try to see it once a year. Unfortunately i didn't last year though.

Although All Wheels Extreme is my favorite show, it can't be that hard to move some ramps and trampolines to another location if Oceana is next to go. Not to mention, it's not hard to tell that the All Wheels Stadium was built for the sole purpose of an aquatic show years ago. That stadium really is an eyesore IMO

I must say the diving show was a much better show in that location. Why did they get rid of it?

I know other parks like Dollywood have had similar shows to AWE in the past. I can't imagine that CP could not create a better location for the show that would increase the space, get rid of the eyesore, and make the show better in the future. However, Oceania park will probably do for the next few years. One can dream though.

AWE is great and is easy to watch several times per season.

That said, it would be wicked-cool if they got a snow scraper and removed a few layers of bird poop off the top ledge. Ewwwww.

Or do that on Raptor.

I know I rant abput this a lot, but I'll say it again....make the swim area in the lake larger so ADULTS can swim in that d**n lake :)

Reasons I like the lake- it's free to swim (as in no soak city admission for those pools), also, the hotel has pools, but cedar point has the best lakefront location in the world, (esp. for an ohio park) and I'd like to take that advantage

It's one of those times when the gradual drop-offs of lake beaches really gets in the way. I've never swam in Lake Erie, but if it's anything like the Lake Michigan beaches by Grand Rapids, you probably have to go out easily a couple hundred feet before it gets anything past waist deep.

I do wonder if perhaps there's some regulation about how many feet from a lifeguard stand people can be. If that's the case though, and if it's shallow enough, what's stopping them from plopping a handful of offshore lifeguard stands to extend the swim area outward?

Risk of human life and extra (highly trained) personnel cost likely would stop it.

Yes, you do have to go out quite a bit before it gets deep. But they used to set up the beach like that years ago. Water at the lifeline was about 6 feet. It needs to be like that again.

That's never going to happen. They're never going to staff it enough to reach that distance off of the beach.

I don't get it, every other beach I go to has no ropes at all. Why does CP do it with theirs?

I'm sure Cedar Point just doesn't want the added liability for their swimming area so they have it roped off. Or they want the jet ski renters to be very clear where they can't drive the boat...remember people are not the brightest.

I think some of the midways really could use some shade trees. The park just feels too much like a concrete slab in some areas. Some green, some natural shade (meaning not the Cedar Fair shades), would be great.

And by the way, I totally get why. On the last cruise we did, it's crazy how parents just leave their kids to do whatever. A girl went under in the tiny pool on deck, and I honestly believe it was the lifeguard that saved her. Then out at Castaway Cay, their private island, they have an enormous area you can float around in, and lifeguards actually on stands hundreds of feet away from the shore. Sure enough, some kid drifts out there, not paying attention, and they had to tow him in.

Have you never noticed that Cedar Point, Land o Many Rules, does a great job of keeping people where they want them? For swimming they've determined they'll allow a certain space and that's it. That one lifeguard they post only has to watch that one area and will whistle anyone who swims outside or past.

Cedar Point Beach, while on Lake Erie, is a private beach. They can control who swims where and when. I would too.
