As I said above, Rougarou very well could be a test for ride conversions. The Rougarou conversion would be less work than a MS conversion since MS track is longer and that would require new track to be installed, where Rougarou did not. I'm sure Rougarou will be well-received. I'm thinking 2016 could bring a MS refurb since that would be the rides 25th anniversary and we may not see anything happen in the GTT space until the parks 150th anniversary.

I see no reason why they would have torn down the theater, moved calypso, and started clearing land where the cars currently are if they weren't planning on starting something new in that area very soon. If something had been wrong with the theater structurally, or they just didn't see it as worth the cost anymore I could see them closing it early, and removing the structure. However that wouldn't explain all of the other moves that they have made recently in this area.
^ Gemini midway was JUST redone...
Here are some of the things I'd like to see....
- update kiddie kingdom, it looks still stuck in the 70s and most of the rides are just round and round type rides it seems. give kids more variety.
- replace one of the basketball games with a flat ride. the park doesn't need 3 ball games.
- they probably won't connect the MS midway to the Gemini midway, as there is a maintenance building back there that it looks like they still use.
- update the ballroom to modern codes so that it can be used as a "ballroom" once again, not a "dust room"
- the goodtime theater was ugly anyway, I'm glad it's gone :)
I have absolutely no evidence to back this up, but merely out of fun speculation, I really could see the Challenge Park area possible being the area of focus for the 150th anniversary. That would explain why the GTT area is already being worked on 5 years in advance. Maybe this area will be a 2 or 3 year project, then there will be another year or two with smaller upgrades/additions to the park, and then for the big anniversary, there is a huge coaster along with a park expansion in the area currently occupied by Challenge Park. There would be plenty of room, especially if the featured coaster is something like a B&M hyper/giga that go pretty far without taking much space (it could go over and around the Soak City parking lot, as well at SC itself and head back toward Sandcastle.
A coaster enthusiast friend and I were also talking about another option for the park's big anniversary coaster that wouldn't necessarily involve removing Challenge Park. It would be a massive B&M giga (or taller), which the station back near Mean Streak/Gemini. The lift would travel in the general direction toward Challenge Park (running behind Gemini). It could go over parts of Soak City and turn around near Sandcastle Suites, not too far from Magnum.
Even another option could be getting rid of Challenge Park for a Soak City expansion. Add at least a slide complex like what several other CF are getting lately (Dorney) and a "toilet bowl" type slide and then I think SC would have a much higher appeal to a greater number of guests.
Again, just some fun predictions to get through the off season, nothing more. :)

I for one don't see CP getting a B&M hyper or giga coaster. They already have one of each, though I know B&Ms, Intamins, and Arrows provide vastly different riding experiences. I don't see it possible that they would get one without removing MF or Magnum and the chances of that are slim to none. I know that you were just having fun speculating, I like to as well, but I just don't think that would happen.
