in addition what "most of something" does that "concept art"/cat art have?
Could it be that the ride will have the most trains running on the track?

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
IN the track!?! that will be scary! ;) ;) ;)
Why did you change it????

I think something this ride will do that they can use to there advantage and use as marketing, is that it will duel with itself at different points during the flat twisty section..
Also.. "most of something" could refer to that this ride may have a lot of theming, which is already been done with Disaster Transport.. and people have to realize that themeing has come a long way since they themed DT, so if this has theming, I think it'll rule. Especially if it's anything like the concept art with the canyons and whatever..

I try to stay away from Enthusiast Rumor Mills, but there's something about this "leak" that I don't understand.
You all are taking shots at ScreamScape, but someone gave them this information. It's not like their "writers" broke into the Cedar Point Marketing offices and stole this material. In fact, I'm pretty sure I read that all marketing material will not be sent until a day before the actual announcement (except for the Press, for obvious reasons)
If this isn't true, then rather than take shots at the one who's giving the promotional material a stage, take shots at whoever let the material leak.
Not to bring up politics, but why is it that the reporter always gets blamed when material which is supposed to be "classified" is made public? Someone had to give them that information.
While ScreamScape is mostly to blame for this, Cedar Point is also to blame for giving this information out this early and the source is to blame, as well, for breaking the confidentiality agreements.
In all honesty, I can't believe that in this day of technology the art wasn't seen sooner.
^Just like Walt said, the fact that they're chosing to display this information and not respecting the industry, they are just as much at fault as the source who leaked it.

Better to let the whole thing lay in ambiguity...
The coaster community has enough intelligence that the artwork would have been validated one way or another.

There are numerous others who have known what this ride was going to be long before the site in question, yet this is the first (and only) leak. Its the site who is responsible, not the leak.

I think we are making a bigger deal than it really should be. So, there are a few hunderd enthusiasts that know what the ride is less that a week ahead of time. It doesn't alter the park's marketing plans at all for the ride nor does it diminish anything from their announcement day. In fact, I am shocked that this news didn't leak out earlier. If there were more of the main stream media really interested in this then it probably would have leaked sooner.
Let's stop acting like a war secret was leaked and just enjoy it for what it is, our favorite park is getting a new roller coaster which I'm sure will be great and we all can be excited about that.
If it were 2 or 3 years before the ride was built,I could see it being a problem. It's 4 days before,I dont see their marketing plan being destroyed by this,They wont lose any business by it being leaked and no one is losing money over it.
It does hurt the sites though,I agree with that, they will start keeping the info closer to themselves and not revealing info to sites like this one. There really is no reason however for sites like this or screamscape to get info months in advance of a media release,it just adds to the possibility of a leak. They should tell everyone on their planned announce date and no earlier. One thing that would be helped by them not telling anyone but internal employees would be the rubbing in the face and constant criticism of peoples speculations by the people that do know what it is.
And there is still always the possibility that it is fake..

Keeping it under wraps is a big conspiracy? And because part of the secret has been leaked, we're all mad? Please. This site doesn't benefit from keeping people in suspense. Our traffic will increase after the announcement. In the end, this hurts everyone because the park has every reason to distrust the Internet community. Screamscape, and other sites that followed with the leak, make the rest of us look bad. That's just one of the reasons why this bothers me.
The amusement industry in general has had their issues with the Internet for years. It's not any different for other amusement parks, but we're talking about Cedar Point in this case. Cedar Point had a specific marketing plan. There are certainly people in the community who have information on all or parts of the project. Web sites have two choices when they get information. One, respect the park involved enough to not derail their marketing plan, or, two, bite the hand that feeds them to release privileged information in advance. Screamscape is popular among the high school crowd right now, but what does the industry think?
Getting beat up over taking the stance of respecting the park is nothing new here. Remember how much grief I got back in April when I wouldn't post aerial photos of the construction site? It was much worse this time around. You should have seen some of the private messages I got, including one that crossed the line. But in the end, I respect the park much more than I do some random 17-year old kid. Cedar Point has a specific plan in place to market this attraction and I have no interest in interfering with it.

I think Screamscape did the right thing by reporting the leak. Cedar Point can only blame themselves for allowing this to get out. Maybe they will learn from their mistake and not go around telling certain people outside management things before they are announced.
Next Trip: Sep. 16
Maverick: 107 ft. first drop, enclosed mid-ride launch, 95 degree first drop, 70 mph, great theme, 3 inversions, and some serious sidewinding!!
Some of you are so entertaining. The funny thing is that you're not even trying to be. :)

^^ Screamscape used to be the National Enquirer of the Amusement News industry. Now they are the Weekly World News.
Walt, I agree with everything you've said. And thanks again for giving us this site. Integrity is a hard thing to have in this day and age, but this site does still have it. I'm glad you've done the right thing by not allowing that stuff to be posted on here before the announcement.

Walt - you are a true leader and mentor to everyone that views this site. It is your ethics that will stick with some of the younger readers on this site, long after the hype any single ride dies off. In the real world of business, a person’s integrity is often the only thing you have to guide you. You deserve every bit of respect that most members on this site show you. Thank you.

Isn't Screamscape the same site that posted first that we could expect a dueling flyer from B&M and then that this was actually a 500ft coaster? If that wasn't enough, they revised the 500ft rumour by saying it was actually a dueling 250ft flyer, and the 500ft was simply the combined height of both hills.
I refuse to express an opinion on the artwork itself, and to be truthful, I regret ever looking it up. What Walt said is 100% correct. These parks allow us enthusiasts special access to the park, and special access to information that the general public does not benifit from.
Assuming the artwork is legit, the person who leaked it broke the law (breach of confidentiality contract) and it sickens me that Lance Hart, the punk who runs Screamscape has decided to profit from it.
The way we should respond to this as a community is simple; boycott Screamscape, and e-mail Lance Hart at: NewsEditor@screamscape.com to express our disgust.
To those of you that visit PointBuzz for free, enjoy its content, love the 2007 Watch section that Walt has put his heart and soul into, and still somehow feel self-righteous enough to e-mail Walt harrassing him for taking the moral high-road I have one thing to say:
If you don't like Point Buzz's policies, don't visit here. We certainly won't miss you.
