That was only because he had Mini-Dusty and I had a full sized one.

Does anyone remember when they usually announce the new Halloweekends info? I was thinking it was mid-August, but can't remember for sure.
Surprised it hasn't been commented here yet, but on Friday I noticed a new Halloweekends banner over the Frontier Carousel Building. Had the UR Dade logo and a tag about "school being out for summer but fall classes will begin soon." This means two things, one is that we are getting closer still :) the other UR Dade is returning this year.
New Halloweekends info posted on the CP website!

Step back in time as you wander the hallowed halls of G.E. Boeckling's Eerie Estate! Or, allow your childhood fears to come alive in the new Happy Jack's Toy Factory. Just a toy, or a real-life nightmare? You decide.
Sweet a Dollhouse.
However, Im unsure if the vollenteer groups that run those things are capable of pulling this off...
But the Eerie estate has me excitied, because its really hard to screw up a haunted house.
And once again my beautiful face makes the header on the Halloweekends page:)
The toy factory thing could be creepy as all get out if they pull it off well. I'm trying to remember which of my friends are scared of clowns, because if they don't have a creepy jack in the box scare, well they're missing out on a great scare possibility. :)
Nice to know what it is they've been working on in the former Pharaoh's Secret and what the old Administrative building will be used for. I'm looking forward to some haunting history.
Oh, speaking of haunted history, they should try to incorporate the haunting story around the carousel horse from the Frontier Carousel that's in Town Hall.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Here is the link to a video of the Knott's Doll Factory maze that Im sure provided the inspiration:

Evil Easter bunnies! :) I'll settle for no crazy jack in the boxes as long as we get evil Easter bunnies.
I really hope they go as all out and creepy as they did at Knott's, because that looked like a thoroughly creepy and enjoyable walkthrough. The soundtrack was excellent as well. The name makes me think of bright colors, but the house was definitely excellently executed.

Doll Factory is the inspiration for the new maze. It will be a little different though but still hold the basic concept of toys/dolls gone bad. The Doll Factory out at Knott's was my favorite of the mazes that I visited. In the video that Touchdown linked to, you can see at 3:45 into it the best part of the maze. The "doll" that comes to life just before you enter the Doll House was very creepy and she did an outstanding job. She really made that maze come to life! Her movements are just awesome. I was able to meet her backstage before the event started, a very nice girl. Amazing what a little horror makeup can do to someones personality;)

Or in your case make you look better. That's right. I went there.
11 years.
Just know that I will get you back on October 17th at 9:17PM. You have been warned.
Your threats mean nothing to me. There's a better chance of a 500 ft floorless jet fueled power launch coaster going in then be scared of you.

Note to self: Be in the area of CarnEvil on Oct. 17th by 9:10PM. Can't wait to see this. :)
In all seriousness though, please tell me they're not cutting back too much on the blood/gore/etc. I figured it would be tweaked a little bit because I figured it wouldn't be an approx. 10 minute affair in the space afforded by DT's line, but I really hope they don't dumb it down so much that it isn't at least creepy.

I'm not sure how the public will react to the G.E. Boeckling's Eerie Estate. People will be confused because they don't know the parks history like we do. I'm even a little confused on what this will be. As long as its scary then its all good.
I got creeped out by just watching the Knotts doll house video. If CP can pull that off I will be happy. Extremely happy.
Sorry for bold words. It wouldn't turn off.
Let's Get Weird.
Zeek I am pretty sure I can still make it so you are in Fear Faire. Test me?
As for the general public not knowing the history of Boeckling, not a big deal. I am sure the history of that family will not play a part in the house but rather just a name. Look at what a lot of haunts do with the history of a house or scare zone. HHN really goes in deep with history and back story. Most of which the general public never knows or finds out about. But its nice that Cedar Point is actually putting some thought into tying the history of the park into a maze.
Does anyone else on here know where G. Boeckling's grave is? I have visited it in the sandusky cemetery on route 250.:) he is buried next to his wife.

I wouldn't worry about that too much. they are cutting down on the volunteers and adding more and more paid screamsters in the houses. I know for a fact there are going to be some amazing people in the toy factory that I can't wait to go through and see.

Two big thumbs up for the houses so far from me!:)
A Doll House will do nicely to replace Pharaohs Tomb, and it's cool to seem them tie in a bit of CP History into a haunted house.

I agree with you, if it's just the name they're using, then nobody beside enthusiasts will get it. However, I think they will somehow tie the history of Boeckling into the house but not TOO into depth so much so that it over saturates what the basic concept of the haunt is.
That's something HHN is AMAZING at doing. And on that note I sorta agree and disagree with you about how much the general public knows. Only since they started with the character the Caretaker have they started doing houses with an elaborate backstory. And most of the houses that DO have a story are pretty widespread enough that "most" people are aware of the story....or the twisted version they do in some cases.
The haunts from 2007 consisted of Freddy, Jason, Leatherface, The Thing, and Dead Silence. So if you've seen those movies, then the haunts essentially told the stories based on the movies. Now last years house dedicated to their new icon Bloddy Mary was a good example of what you're talking about. Unless you followed the website or REALLY paid attention to how they told her story throughout the house, then you'd be lost. Same thing with the rest of their haunts from last year(Scary Tales, Interstellar Terror, Creatures, Body Collectors, Dead Exposure and The Hallow)with the one exception of the "Doomsday" house based off the movie.
As you can tell I'm REALLY into this subject. Now Im getting all excited for the haunt season and to start construction on my haunt.:D
