Webcam

T&T have been talking a lot about the webcams that they got, and now have said that they installed one and it gives a fantastic view. So where is it? Seems like they should want to get them up and running as soon as possible considering the end of the season is slowly arriving (Yikes!).

It takes time to set up a webcam in a place like CP that doesn't have easy instant network access everywhere.

Answer from T and T:

Funny you should ask. We've already hooked one up and now we need to focus it to give a clear image. We can tell you that the picture is spectacular compared to the current images. Keep checking back for updates.

Maybe they want them up for the offseason if you know what I mean... *cough*Aquarium*cough* ;)

Checked out the webcams on the CP website,there all down it says for maintinence,wonder if there making the switchover to the new cams.

I don't see any other reason why they'd be down...
Hopefully soon we'll have a new view of the park!

Wow, what a great view!

I think they should focus it more on the distance and less on raptor's supports on the left and the people right below the camera. Mantis, Power Tower, and TTD look too fuzzy, not to mention the midway arcade building. It will be cool to see Raptor on the webcam now though.

They also seem to be refreshing the image every 30 seconds instead of every 60.

^Yeah, I noticed that, where did they say the other 2 webcams would be?

If I were Cedar Point I would set up a webcam right on the beach overlooking the Breakers Pool or something like that. The rides are nice...but, they are missing one of the most beautiful spots on Lake Erie...a spot that could generate business for their hotels.

But hey, the concrete midway looks nice too.

That's a good view. Didn't they have a webcam in this spot a few years ago when they were replacing Sky Ride's cable?

Also, this webcam definitely allows for some good pictures of pointbuzzers. I'm definitely going to stand under it and wave next time I go.

It is? I just pulled it up and I still get the 60 second countdown timer.

Yes, it still has a :60 countdown, but the image is actually refreshing every 30, their app just displays a new one only every 60.

I like the view, its pretty cool. But they need to show more of the coasters then the people. Does anyone know where the other 2 are going to be?

The quality on this cam is great!

Also notice that the cam is active from 5:00 AM till 11:59 PM...

Like someone else said, I do remember this view from before, and weren't there some issues with people doing some...er...inappropriate things toward the camera from the Sky Ride cabins?

^haha i can totally see that happening. I hope they don't have problems with that sort of thing. But honestly, I don't think too many people besides enthusiasts really look at their web cams.

T&T have a new blog out saying that it was supposed to be on Disaster Transport but there was no way to connect it. That would have been a much more ideal location then this one I think.
