Rogue, what is it about a dragster that's so tacky?? Sitting in a car capable of going 250 mph is just amazing. I for one would love the chance to go anywhere near a piece of machinery (sp?) like that. Once again, great idea by a great park.

Eh, more like 300 mph, but who's keeping track? ;) Lol, actually the fastest top fuel dragster recorded was at 333.08 mph, driven by Tony Schumacher.

And don't forget, all that speed in about 3.5 to 4 seconds!!! Can you even imagine the rush you'd get by going from 0 to 300mph in 3 seconds...WOW!

This is what I was talking about yesterday in my earlier post (end of page 40). This is a crane boom in front of the beach cam. I know this because I caught a shot of it as the top of the crane was in front of the cam. Later you could just see the middle of the boom. So I wonder, once again, what work they're doing there with a crane.

Its probably not the same thing you are talking about, but now there is some kind of boom or crane down by the station doing something.

That boom is pouring more concrete for the midway.

Yeah, I follow all types of racing pretty much. Looks like Kenny taught him a thing or two.

They've poured the concrete next to the photo building and are smoothing it right now...

EDIT: It looks like they're concentrating on pouring and paving the concrete around the Winner's Circle.

Actually, this dragster won't be capable of going anywhere. They took out the real engine that was in the car and made a mock-up out of fiberglass. However, it looks increadibly real. The only way I could tell it was fake was by touching it. I guess you could tell it's a fake if you picked it up too. I was told the fiberglass model only weighs 10 pounds.

hmm... well fiberglass is really light, but only 10 lbs??? Wow! I hope they tie that thing down.

ONE freeway stamp a day... ONE

They are finally testing the launch. They had the lights going on the tower and the train moved up on part of the launch. Don't know how far it went. YAH

:)

I could of sworn that in one camera I saw the lights and in the power tower cam (8 seconds later) I saw the train farther then it is now. It was by the grandstands. I should of saved the image. I'll grab it if they do it again.
I also think I seen a car futher down the track but not over the top.

Why did the make the winners circle and then pour concrete in all around it so that the whole thing ends up making one flat area. Unless the angle is deceiving it was pointless to pour the winners circle first.

You can still see the circle, Its jsut they used one of those grinding olishing things and now its all dusty all around. When they sweep it up it will look nice again.

Dougster just sent me that pic and I do really believe that full circuit testing has just started. That's the only way that the train could be that far back on the brake run because there are no kicker wheels to push it back that far.

Are you the one who I sent the circled pic to, pagoona?

Yes, and it wasn't the train. It was actually a white truck that was under the track, according to Big D.
