Web Cam Activity and Testing..Oh My!

I think that's the tent someone mentioned earlier where they are working on the launch equipment, which needs to be shielded from the elements while they install it.
If you look at cam3 or the parking lot cam if you will....notice the shelter looks alittle bit big to be a contractor trailer. I think it's a media tent for the upcoming announcement. Or it could also be the shelter for the hydrolics or even both. just my 2 cents.

I really want to believe that they will put that top piece of track up while combining it with the announcement or some sort of ceremony. And I hope it happens TODAY!!

First CP Visit: 1970

I saw a Guy with what looked like a really expensive camera. Looked like he was taking photos of the ride.

That's not surprising, they had a helicopter camera for the topping off of MF.

Looking at the ground level cam, it seems apparent that neither this piece nor this piece is going to be at the apex of the tower. I do not see them anywhere. Where are they or where will they go. Is it possible that there will be an outside loop at the top of the tower?

With the weather less than extraordinary, might it be possible that they'll wait until early next week to cap it off??

Yea....it looks really nasty out.

Jdubya - Are you kidding? You are the guy who has had this thing figured out since early in November. If I'm not mistaken, the two links in your post are different photos of the same piece! And it seems like the space that is left at the top of the tower is exactly where that apex piece will go.

I even went back and re-read your post in the "Wierd Piece" thread and I am convinced that you were absolutely right about that piece with the seven connections.

Just looking at the ground level cam and I see a mini van driving toward the tower with writing on the side, please oh please let it be a news crew!!!
I assumed that the white covering was just housing work on the hydraulic system, but it could very well be for the press if there's going to be an announcement. We'll know very soon, hopefully.
HMM, yea...i thought that it was for huydraulics too. But i dont think they would put the media right under the cranes.

I'll bet that Walt and Jeff are both there now and they will be going up in the bucket to install the bolts for the apex piece by later this afternoon (of course, I would probably lose that bet).

Looking at the Power Tower cam just one more piece to go.
2 of the 3 webcams ar down, are they doing something secret ????

That's the point of the yellow structure.

And now to finish my earlier thought. The reason I said that they might hold off until Monday to cap off is to get better weather for any sort of PR and photo opportunities. Today's crummy. Monday looks to be better weather-wise. That way they could at least give some sort of notice to the area's news crews. (Of course covering news with almost no notice is their job). Just a thought.

It's winter, weather is almost always bad. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't MF topped off when it was snowing??
If this is the top, how is it connected? There are at least 6, if not 7, connecting surfaces on that part and by what I can see, there would only be 5 connections at the top (4 supports and the track)

If it was placed on the top upside down from the way it is sitting in the picture, the 4 supports connect at the bottom, track at the top, then there is one connection out to the side and one either to the front or back. Is there something I am not seeing?
