Web Cam Activity and Testing..Oh My!

CoasterBob - you're right, they are the same piece. (This is where I feel really, really stupid.) The backgound threw me off. But I'm still not sure that piece is at the top. Looking at how close the end of the track on the left side is to the top already, that piece looks too big to fit. I don't see how it fits with the connector being in the middle. And I still don't see where it could be if it's already been placed.
Yeah that is the top of the tower, the ones that come out at angles go to the sides of the tower, one comes straight out going to the next platform and then one goes out the top and to the side for the track and stairs.

Why do people keep saying the webcams aren't working. Every single one works on my comp. and has for the last month.

They're starting to run the elevator shaft up the tower (Those silver crate like pieces). Look at the side view web cam.

FIGHT THE POWER

They're connecting the tophat from what it looks like. I'd say the announcement will be here by the end of January for sure. Testing will probably begin shortly after. Anyone know what the height is as of now?

Warning: Millennium Force's airtime may leave you rear sorer than it's ever been before.

I know what you are saying JW, but maybe the webcams are so far away from the tower that the track will actually fit into that space. To me it looks as if they have 2 more pieces to go. Remember that the top of that tower is 400+ feet off the ground so it looks smaller than it really is.

What goes up must come down

I don't see a crane working on the elevator shaft. How do you suppose they're putting it up. I wonder if they are lifting the frame from the bottom somehow and then inserting a section underneath, then lifting again, and again, and again.

ed. - I think you may be right, luvJC

Wow! The suspense is boring me!

^That's No. 16 last Saturday. Approx. 325 ft. It's gotten at least 50 ft. bigger since than. It could hit 400 but we shouldn't keep our hopes up

there is about 3 pieces of tophat still to go up. the "wierd" piece if the 7 connectors is the top piece of the tower, and as someone already explained it...3 of the connectors are the 3 main "pillars" of the tower, the one going strait down is connected to the top catwalk. one will have and L shapped piece coming off of it to connect to the tophat. and the other 2 will more than likely have something to do with the wallkway that will crest along side the tophat. And i dont think they will have a bunch of press there the minute this thing is done..unless there is something i havnt heard yet. The white building seems like it would be for the hydrolics...but it might be a tunnel of sorts for the que entrance..is it may yet?
Bud, this coaster is already over 400 feet tall...
If this ride is complete so early, I see a slight connection here. Two huge, but pretty uninventive coasters back to back...This one is finished much earlier. Could this mean they want to get this one finished fast so they could start the production of another roller coaster for 2004? I say yes. Something tells me that they did not originally plan on this ride getting built. I have a feeling they put off plans on something else so they could get this up and sneak in #17 while nobody expects it.

D***! Did I say less than? I meant COMPLETELY OVER!!! THIS RIDE IS GONNA KICK A**!!!

They didn't originally build a 400+ footer? Yeah, right...sure. The last time I checked, they planned these these a couple years in advance.

Uninventive? where are you from that you've seen a 117 mph launch in a few seconds with open air seated trains?

Launch: Tophat: Twistage: Brakes...

...Denial is an ugly thing.

Looks like only one more track section to go on the tophat. They should be raising it soon with the evergreen attached to indicate the ride has topped out.

Thanks for being so kind CPE, you're showing your age :)
Holy crap this thing rocks already.. I think the mad dash on opening day is what I am looking forward to the most. I remember MF. the energy in the station that day was absolutely amazing. I have never felt that energy anywhere. Celebrate all!

Just the track, the wind, and the speed.

Is it just me, or does this thing NOT look 400 feet!!!! Im probably wrong, but to me it looks about 375 feet!!

Did you hear that UPS and FED EX are merging into one company? You know what there going to be called???? FED UP!!!!! ;)

Take about 52 feet each section multiply that by 8, it's easily over 400 feet.

You are thinking much too hard on this. The weather in March and April can be just as nasty as in January. The quicker they get it done, the quicker they don't have to worry about it being on time.

Can someone do a drumroll?
