Covid-19 is believed to have as much as a 14 day incubation period, that means he could have been infecting people and surfaces in your community for up to the past two weeks. These people are concerned and rightly so.
Listen to the real scientists not the politicians who think they are experts at everything and have "hunches".
Thabto- my apologies, I was only joking. I’m tired of jokes at this point and that would include my own. So I’m sorry. I knew what you meant.
We were in Orlando about 3 weeks ago. And as much as I’d like to report on the extremely busy day and how awesome Hagrid’s ride was, instead I’m counting the days since I mingled closely with people from all over the world. I’m close to being confident that we’re in the clear from all that.
Because of my age and a few lifelong habits, I find myself in a high-risk category and I’m extremely nervous about everything now, especially what may have crossed my path some weeks earlier without me having a clue.
The last thing I’m worried about right now is trips to amusement parks. Everything else is closing or canceling, so I can’t imagine how this won’t eventually be the same.

Mr. DeWine has declared Ohio to be in a state of emergency.

Interesting how at a federal level we are not in an declared state of emergency for covid-19 which would enable FEMA and its resources but we are in a official state of emergency regarding the border so it is easier to obtain resources to build the wall. Expect to hear lots of arguments using the non-emergency to justify accelerating the declared emergency.
Best case, hopefully all the containment measures help the rate of US cases to start slowing down in the coming weeks. Then we are just left with a lingering threat over the summer with everyone extra vigilant.
If that’s the case I wouldn’t be worried about attending the parks themselves. The biggest threat might be if you have even a single employee who becomes infected. Given the close proximity of everyone in housing, on the bus, employee cafeteria, etc., I’m not sure how they can respond without quarantining a good chunk of the workforce. Then I don’t even how you can operate a park.
I can do a year without amusement parks if the plug is pulled. Safety is priority #1, but my biggest concern outside of the virus is the livelihood of anyone in an industry affected by this and beyond.
If the k-12s do close, been trying to think of ways I can contribute. Given my own family's various health issues I can't exactly open my home for daycare. But if you think school IT departments are strained now, switching to online learning on a dime like this will be a major headache for them. Maybe volunteer to help man the help center, or even cautiously making house calls to help families get setup properly. Fortunately I am all ready a registered volunteer with the district with FBI background check and all that jazz.
Anyone have ideas or plans of their own?
The problem with this virus is that unlike the flu, it is expected to be an issue even during the summer months. I think when you see the NBA postpone the season and the MLB thinking about moving games away from hot zones you realize that this isn’t your average flu.
I suspect this will, at the very least, have some negative impact on the first few weekends of Cedar Points season, and likely other parks as well. I know Universal and Disney are discussing a plan to close, although no decision has been made yet.
It's pretty unfortunate for the park, as they're clearly promoting hard to make their 150th be one of their best years ever. Obviously business metrics aren't the greatest concern in the world at the moment, but just pointing out that CP is ramping up for a season of epic proportions, and now that's likely in jeopardy.

There are thousands and thousands of businesses/individuals that aren't in the billion dollar revenue club that are much more at risk and on the line than Cedar Fair. Cedar Fair will be fine.
Congress needs to act to reduce the financial impact of this on the American public, sooner the better.

The House presented their bill today. You'll never guess what happened next! Unless you've been, like, paying attention these last few years.

To be fair, they appear to have changed their minds, thank goodness.

Can you suggest something I can fully invest my net worth of $64.48 into?

That will about get you 2 units of FUN!
Last I checked it was more like 3 units. And if you wait a few days and recent trends continue, it will be 4 or 5.
Has Cedar Fair/Cedar Point made any other statements other than not accepting any Chinese workers?
The season is still expected to go on as planned correct?
^See 3 posts above yours. As of now all CF parks are planned to operate per their respective schedules.
