vertical construction

I'm no expert, but don't those kind of look like supports for an overbanked turn and not for a tophat?
look at the shadow and the lighting. look at the left support on the close-up (it looks *exactly* like one we saw close up lying down behind mean streak). its highly unlikely its a fake. and if it is, someone did their homework. at any rate, looks like we're looking at one giant tower for the tophat.

Could very well be, it looks like the bottom half and they are starting on it . MF's first overbank has a similar structure going for it in the middle. Notice how on MF's they start a new cross brace after the top ring on each vertical peice? The only difference is it's cubed instead of triangle.

If it is lets see if they can make this one untouchable ;).

This still could very well be a cubed project in the making. Who knows if they just haven't put up the 4th side yet? It still very well could be the start of a tophat. I don't think the WT/Xcelerator supports would do very well in this situation being as tall as this ride could be. MF's lift and overbank supports were very different from any other done before too. WT's supports aren't like the V2's out there either. Perhaps we're looking at a new support style for tophats?

Perhaps we are over-analyzing a picture a bit too much here..? According to my clock, it's 1 AM which means it's Friday. That is only one day away from when we'll actually be able to see this thing in real life.

I was just thinking that the crane in the backround might give us a vital clue as to how tall the ride will be. If anyone is going to the park this weekend, could they get a couple of good shots or try and estimate how tall the crane is?
The size of the crane really doesn't mean much. They will probably bring in the big one when they start to get very high like they planned to do with Wicked Twister

There is way to much dwelling on the pictures. There's no need to do so when tonight everybody can see what's there, or you even go now! Just drive back to Hotel Breakers, that's almost where the picture is taken from. (actually the bridge)

I don't think they are open tonight. HalloWeekends don't start until Sept. 20th.

What the hell for? I mean really... it's the same supports you've all see, only upright. I can understand if you want to go this weekend, when the full park is open, but really...

Hey, my wife has a cheescake sitting here that is about half done. Anyone want a picture of it? How about a taste?

You would get the same view. Why not atleast wait until tomorrow when you can get close to it. ;-)

I agree with Jeff. Most everybody who is a part of these forums have seen these supports. I won't start to drool (again) and want pictures until i hear that the track is going up, or a subsantial amount of work is being done.

I just happened to be browsing through the pictures when what you said above came to mind. Check this image out. On the leftside of the structure is another anchor point for cross bracing, which is clearly not contained within the triangular strucutre. At some point you should see additional vertical supports going up that will connect to this part of the structure.
