I could be wrong, but I don't believe they were filling tracks with sand back when Raptor and Mantis were built. In fact, the first time I can remember it being done was when Dorney was constructing Talon in 2001.

I am glad they are filling the track with sand, because i dont want to have to shout my voice while at the gate with my friends :)
In line for Raptor and mantis, we always have to shout because the track is so loud. We have to pause our conversation whenever the train zooms by over where we are standing.
Will GateKeeper have those awful looking nets over the front gate?

I would be disappointed if there were nets up over the front gate. Just about anywhere else isn't that bad, but they're definitely a very unattractive feature in what they're trying to make an attractive location.
