Valravn Goes Vertical--Construction Starts

I also don't ever have problems with the restraints that a lot of people have. Personally, I like the current restraints on Rougarou more than the Gatekeeper and Valravn restraints.

As long as they don't tighten, I think they'll make the holding break at the top of the first drop that much more intense. It'll make you feel like you're almost going to fall out of your seat.

Agreed! The looser restraints allow for a more extreme experience. The new Rougarou restraints, just like mantis, don't really allow riders to easily hold their hands in the air like they just do not care.

As far as I'm concerned, the new restraints are vastly superior in that there's no head banging, better range of motion, and improved field of view.

Could anyone foresee them building a haunt building like they did with GK somewhere along Perimeter Rd where there is some free space. Particularly where some of that fencing is laying on the ground near the bottom right corner of the camera?

The vest restraints are my favorite over-the-shoulder style restraint, and 2nd place isn't even close... Granted, I haven't tried Maverick since the new restraints were installed (or I-305).

ROUNDABOUND.

Has the wooden structure along the bottom of the second drop always been there?

I don't know about a haunt building, but it's a safe bet that after finalizing the layout - and before finalizing landscaping plans - they look at how else they can utilize the space. And given the popularity of HW, I'd bet using the infield as a haunt has come up in conversation.

The vest restraint on Maverick is a bit different than that of GateKeeper/Banshee. It is more of a cloth material than a retracting, elastic rubber. The range of motion on Maverick has increased significantly. Far more than the B&M vests because they don't retract. There's soo much more room for activities while riding Maverick.

Looks like the same type of footer for the wall being built on the other side of the dive loop

Looks like its just where the fences are going to be.

I'm glad Thabto got the reference. You may often see movie/tv quotes in my replies ;)

I don't believe that general fences need such large footprints as we see at the bottom of that 2nd dive. I'll also go with CoasterGuy15, being for the same type of structure that we see after the dive loop. Although, I will admit, when I first seen it this morning, I wanted to think SPLASHDOWN! Then I consumed my first cup of coffee, and came back to reality.....

Looking closely (obviously not now since it's dark) you can see where the low zone perimeter is for those sections (2nd drop and turn before airtime hill). My guess is another fancy looking wall structure.

If that were the case, they would have excavated to create a foundation, as they did with the fancy looking wall structure. They're framing on top of grade there.

You're right there. Looking at it again this morning, I think it's just a normal wooden fence with some cross bracing going on to keep the vertical beams stable. The view from the webcam is deceptive but the wood structure closest to the new marina entrance looks like a vertical wall.
