I just noticed this, but I think those are some sort of LED lights near the top of the guard rail. They only look half complete, but it'll be a neat addition.
I don't believe fall protection would be required for that climb, just like any other lift hill. I don't think that angle is too steep. They would most likely use the funicular because it would be more efficient and take less time than having everyone climb those stairs. If I'm not mistaken Busch Gardens does not make anyone climb on their tours
^^Saying like most lift hills would be more accurate. There are some lift hills too steep to not have fall protection, like Intimidator 305's lift. Regardless of the method of accent, I would not be surprised if they require fall protection, if for no other reason then wearing fall protection is fun.
Not sure if this has already been discussed or not but via webcam it looks like a tunnel is being built after the loop that comes after the MCBR? Or is it something else?

I'm not sure what the guidelines are, but 47 degrees is pretty steep. GateKeeper has rails on it for tying off. A trip and fall isn't going to end well on something that steep. And if RGR liked my post, I'm gonna take a stab and assume I'm right.

It very well may require fall protection, I can't remember the requirements off hand. What I would like to know is if OSHA would consider a roller coaster "General Industry" or do they have a category for amusement rides. The steepest lift hill I've beer climbed was a Vekoma Boomerang which is very steep and it didn't require anything. I was basing my comment off of that.

I am in agreement that there could be some sort of additional feature or themed structure in this area. I know it seems a bit out of place because it's Cedar Point, but the wall in the webcam looks to have windows and appears to be a bit taller than the wall in the Valravn digital renderings.
I am across the bay at Battery Park and it looks like there is a train on the hill right now.

I'm on the web cam and I can't see a train. Maybe I'm just blind.

Ride-on
Maybe it's not visible on the cam because a support or the drop is in the way. Does it look like it's moving?

Assuming they have the 2 car train sitting mid-way up on the lift, how exactly would they disengage the anti-rollbacks to return the car to ground level safely? Clearly they cannot let a partial train run the course.
Some bad news about Valravn:

I wonder if that wall after the dive loop could have something to do with accommodating the on-ride camera. The dive coaster I've been on (Sheikra and Griffon) both have their on-ride cameras attached to an overhead bridge of some sort.
