Useless Information...

I think it was 1977 because it messed up some of CCMR's track and cleared many trees in the area of Gemini. :)

Ahh, yes, the boneyard :)

CCMR "boarded up entrance" was changed LONG before the storms of 78(?). It happend in year two or three of the ride...They put a sign over the old entrance saying something about a cave in.

Thanks for correcting me Tim. Why did they do it?

Tim, who wants to work at CP, and understand haf of the stuff on this site.

Just had to pull this out of the depths... What other useless info do you people know?

Tommy Penner - Variable X
"Last night, I laid in my bed, looked to the sky, and thought, Where is my ceiling?"

The Chausse was the main route to CP before the Causeway. Chausse means 'Paved Road' in french I believe. It still is a quick trip when coming from the east. The first part of the Chausse is not the original road to CP. The original entrance was actually a mile or two to the east of the Chausse entrance. It was moved due to heavy storm damage. There is a marker and some trails at the old location today.

Cedar Point opened in 1870, the same year as two other Ohio institutions: The Ohio State University and Graeter's Ice Cream (a Cinti./ Cols. chain).

Intamin's first ride at CP was the Jr. Gemini in 1979.

CP has built the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world (at the time) three times (Gemini, Magnum, MF).

Three coasters at the park have two lift hills. Can you name them?

I remember hearing somewhere that the forward pass was perfected on the Cedar Point beach. (maybe a Discovery show?)

I believe I counted correctly on a day I rode Magnum 32x...there are 42 of the "bigger" lights going up the lift hill.

Just remembered this useless fact.

Use a payphone in the park to call home... your caller ID will read "Cedar Point" when you get back, instead of the usual "Pay Phone" or "Unavailable Number" message.

i dunno about that one. when i called my mom form a payphone at CP last month is came up as "payphone" on her caller ID. she still knew it was me though...

this message brought to you by letter U and number 2

When your in line for WT, listen to the music real close. When WT launches the speakers hiss.
