Useless Information...

I've wondered that myself Jeff... The only thing that I could think of is would the fiberglass mouldings on Magnum have any affect on the width of the train? If you were to move a Magnum train to Gemini and change the wheel size, would it fit through the station?

Mine Ride's lap bar release is the old fashioned manual release stuff... You could get on Magnum or Gemini using Mine Ride cars, but it'll take a while getting off!

Wow, I never thought that this topic would take off like this, these have been interesting to say the least so far, lets keep them coming!
The ceiling in the lobby of Hotel Breakers is the original tin ceiling installed in 1905-06.  It is one of the few left like it in the US.

I don't know about that... I'd be willing to bet there are a few like that in every old town square in the US.

There are a lot of tidbits in Cedar Point: Queen of American Watering Places.

The plane that landed on Cedar Point Beach was Glen Curtis in his Albany Flyer.

The Cedar Point trash collecting service makes $17,000 each week when they dump the park trash into landfills.

I got my trash can info from actually doing the job. When you pull trash between midnight and 5 am you get bored so you start counting all the trashcans you see to stay occupied while doing your job......

How about this one. Given an extremely clear night, given a slightly darkend park (small brownout), given you are lucky enough to get the top level of space spiral. You should see a hazy golden set of dots appear just over the horizon, those would be Cleveland. I've only had that experience twice and the second time with binoculars. I'm pretty sure of it, counting the cities and vicinities across the lake shore. Huron, Vermillion, Lorain, Avon Lake/Bay Village, Lakewood/Cleveland.

With Wicked Twister Cedar Point will have 3 Coasters over 200 feet tall.

"HUZZAH!"

In the light cycles of Millennium force, you know when the Red,White, and Blue cycle will come one because there is a pause where the structure is dark for about 10 seconds.
They have 146 food outlets. 29,000 gallons of ice cream were served in 2000. Also in 2000: 12 miles of hotdogs, 595 tons of french fries. On average, 200 costumes are used each year for the live shows in all the theaters.
-----------------
There were more that 12 miles of hotdogs...I'm assuming you just watched the CP special that aired on the Discovery Channel. They said that they served enough hotdogs to stretch from there to Clevend 12 times.

The drive cable on Cedar Downs would reach from Disaster Transport to Sandcastle Suites if laid straight along the beach....

Midway Carousel contains a total of 4,985 lights...

2001 - ...too many to list :0)
2002 - Wave Swinger - Swan Boats TL

I have that Discovery Channel show on tape. Yes, CP_bound, I meant to put that they went to Cleveland and back twelve times. My mistake.
Yeah, I figured that's where the "12" came from. :)

Just remembered this useless fact.

Use a payphone in the park to call home... your caller ID will read "Cedar Point" when you get back, instead of the usual "Pay Phone" or "Unavailable Number" message.

Yeah, and I've also learned it'll cost you an arm and a leg to use a CP payphone. I had to use one a few year back. I ended up paying about $2.00 for a one minute call. Maybe it was a malfunctioning phone. It's gone now.

There is 9,400 yards of concrete for 226 footers on MF, which would be about 262,000 feet of sidewalk. Or about 50 miles. Imagine a sidewalk from CP to Cleveland. That's also like from my house in Greensburg PA to the Pittsburgh Intl. Airport.

I'll stop now
