I know this post was made two days ago, but I feel I should respond to it because I disagree with it.

1) The error in the brick lay you see is most likely within a quarter of an inch, but the error is magnified by the shadow of the overhang cast by the particular angle of the sun. If the sun was at any other angle, it would likely be only noticable from arm's length. One would probably have to look for such error to notice it.

2) As one can see, the wall falls below ground level, thus, the current quality of the brick lay is irrelevant if the wall is backfilled and if the wall will be facing public eye...

3) It will very likely be covered up with an additional layer of material as a more aesthetically-pleasing facade such as a weather-proof plaster or other material (possibly wooden siding) to match the theme of the ride.

I was trying to make the satire of the statement more obvious.

Sort of like saying I have known since April of 2007 what the ride is.

Platinum has it's perks. So does living exactly 97.5 miles from King's Island and Cedar Point

hey, i was just sharing what i had heard. who knows how it leaked. it could have been an accident, or he tol his wife in secrecy and she spilled the beans, or his friend couldnt keep the secret. i am just telling u what i heard.

But the thing is there is a difference between credible information being leaked and a bartender making up something. Ask 20 different people who work at Cedar Point and I can almost guarantee that you will get 40 different answers!

NOTHING was leaked, and IF this person did happen to have the correct information and started spewing it about, he would be FIRED. There is such a thing as a confidentiality agreement that pretty much every company that exists has.

^Well, the post about the masonry work gave it away really.

Other than that it's just a bunch of people talking about nothing.

a 525 foot giga coaster, in honor of kinzel. it will cover the park and cast a shadow on millenium and ttd. i like the idea, dont know if its true or not, but i can dream.

Hmm, somehow I doubt that this ride is going to do that.

How can a 500ft coaster be a giga coaster? ;)

Hahaha. The 525 foot thing is ridiculous. Seriously, take one look at what they have now and you know that can't be true. It is not a possibility. The smallest turn on Millennium Force has wider footers on it's a-frame supports than the widest gap between footers on this ride. I suppose after dropping 500 feet you'll dive into those sharp turns and pull 10 g's too? Break the world record for most G forces on a ride? Seriously, the "I know a guy who knows a guy" thing is so old. Anyone could make up a story. Use common sense.

Aside from the 525 feet part, the "building it in honor of Kinzel" was just awesome! ;)

525ft. no way....there does not appear to be enough room. Unless someone knows of a vertical looper (if it's possible and also an Intamin design)

Shortsited jugga? I can see you screwed off in school too much... ;)

THIS WILL NOT BE A 500 FOOT COASTER. Hasn't everyone come to that logical conclusion by now? Geez.

At the risk of posting something on topic, maybe water will be involved. Perhaps the masonry shown in the pictures is where the actual splash down will be. Its hard to tell what is around it but it seems to have little notches at each and that indicate where track will go through. Then it also looks like they are digging inside. I'm not sure why they wouldn't pour concrete instead of laying masonry however.

Like I said, its difficult to tell from the angle of the photos, but the idea just came to me this morning while reading the rest of this.

Water involved? Who woulda thought?

NO

A Michigan State Spartan Fan!!!

Here is my guess for the brickwork. Yesterday when I was on Mean Streak I got a good look at it. I t looks more like an entrance to an underground tunnel. Does anyone else agree with me?

^ No, absolutely not, not at all, and no.

Looks like an electrical building to me.

You know - there was a smart-ass reason I had spelled it like that....but now I can think of that reason.

Goodbye MrScott

John

It looks to narrow to be an electrical building to me. It really looks to small to contain anything that would have to deal with a propulsion system for the ride.
