Mechanical Engineer: Dont mess with us, we design your coasters.

got cha.. thanks

Didn't you just post that Steve?? LOL!! I think if someone knows the answer they'll reply.

It was pretty windy yesterday (tues) as well... Lake Erie had some impressive White Caps and the water was higher on the beach than I have ever seen it... it was past the fence where the Jet Ski's are. And yes, it was SOO windy at WT!

I guess that piece of track that looks different has to be a launch because that's the kind of track used on TTD's launch. BTW, it was so windy at the park today, going down Magnum's first hill got us hit with water from the nearby waterslide mist.

I took pics of the waves on lake erie I have never seen them like that. Ya I was wondering what got me wet but on way back did it again and it was from the waterpark. Who would of thunk magnum would be a water ride.

^^ P07 will not have a similar Launch as TTD. TDD uses a Cable Launch System (Basically a cable pulling the train from Under it), and P07 appears it will use a LIM system which has no Cable Connected under the Train.

Simply put, there's no trough (for the catch car......which is pulled by cables that are connected to a drum situated on an axle that has 32 hydraulic motors around it on "gear boxes" that have hydraulic hoses attached to them that pump hydraulic oil from a reservoir into nitrogen accumulators that have a piston in them that puts pressure on the nitrogen in which the piston is then released forcing the hydraulic oil through the hoses thru the motors which all spin simultaneously thus spinning the drum which winds the cables that are attached to the catch car which pulls the train down the track at 120 mph) on the launch section.

See.....simple.:)

Couldnt resist. :D

Oh and for those of you who were at the park today/yesterday, how long did Dragster run (regarding the wind)? I was gone all day (work and other stuff) and couldn’t keep up on its operation thru-out the day, so I dont know what to mark in my operation log.

They're still putting in concrete for new footers...wow. They just keep going...like the Energizer Bunny on Coaster Crack! (You guys have to excuse me. I'm a bit tipsy).

I hope it's not too bad when we go next weekend. This temperature did a drastic drop & it's gotten windy all of a sudden. I hate going when it's windy because of obvious reasons. Plus- who wants to be freezing at Cedar Point?

freezing=less people! count me in!

Man, I thought I was the only one who was awake.

I can't stand being cold, but I gear up really good when I go there during Halloweekends. I usually end up taking some layers off. But it's a 'Catch 22' when you take layers off and then get on the roller coasters nearest to the water.

nope, cant sleep, Love Halloweekends, going the weekend of Oct 20th this year. Looking forward to seeing the project first hand rather then clicking through all these pics and reading what others have seen!

All though, I greatly appreciate all the pictures!

yeah, there are a few of us up at this hour.. hey i got an idea why don't we all watch the webcam and give up to the minute updates on the things happening!

"Nothings happening, nothings happening, ok i think the crane might have moved... no that was just the wind... nothings happening, notings happening. look a racoon just got in the trash can!"

But we cant do that cause the Camera is off ;) If it moved, I would blame Cedar Points Webmaster for switching the photos and playing dirty mind tricks

you'd think they put the web cam where it is so we can't really tell what they're going to do next.

plus it stinks because we can't see the whole project area.

Yes, because it's obvious that they're trying to hide the construction.

T&T have said before that it is not easy to move the camera. It isn't as siomple as picking it up and moving it. With that said, we have had 4 seperate sections of track within view of the camera already. And based on the footers, we'll have at least 3 more sections plus the station that we'll be able to see from the camera current placement.

Also, I think liebevision might have been talking about the funcoast cam.
