Making an announcement around the 4th of July wouldn't make too much sense because it is still too early in the current season to be announcing something that won't be open for another year.
I'm no marketing genius, but I think that letting a "buzz" grow naturally throughout the year is better than having a big "ta-da!" moment too early. Because once the initial hype wears off, then you've just got a long, boring wait until the next spring.
If I were them I would announce it until after Labor Day. Make the announcement then and post info about the new ride in the park and maybe they can count on a few extra admissions during the Halloween season from people coming to check out the "unveilied" details. Aside from that, I really don't see how this works as a marketing tool for THIS season.

Uhmmm.... that was just a ridiculous statement e x i t. The GP exists very much indeed. It´s not something you say, to make yourself feel special as an enthusiasts. It´s just how it is. I don´t feel "special", I just feel like a Nerd. Check this sh*t:
Well, I hate the term "GP" and I can't stand the term "enthusiast". Ask me which one I'd rather be "grouped" into, I'd gladly say the group that is most commonly referred to as "GP". It's not that I don't enjoy events liek Coastermania and the like, but there are quite a few bad apples that have turned the whole "GP/Enthusiast" thing into a sour subject.
As for no rebuttal from me, I do have a life outside of Pointbuzz, you know. :)

That'll be fun.
I'm thinking this is gonna be a great coaster, lots of twists and turns and stuff to keep you occupied.
In other news, I haven't been checking this forum as often as I should, when I looked at the webcam and saw track I about flipped a biscuit right here in my chair.

After getting a good look at the full hill of M.S. with the bunny hill in the pic, I'm estimating the bunny hill is about 36% of M.S.'s 161' hill which would make it about a 58' hill.

More than likely I'll be there. Because I probably won't make it this upcoming weekend or Labor Day weekend.
