Nothing exciting, but I forgot to upload one aerial with the others on Sunday. Thought I'd point it out:
Actually I think that is a very good picture. It really puts things in perspective. Great photo update.
Thrills Around the Corner!
Not only that, what first struck me is the size of the staging area! CP is clearly anticipating a significant amount of track or supports to fill that area (sweet).
If we assume that the track is sorted in some logical manner. Such as grouping the pieces that go togeter so they are easier to find when they need them. Can any of you with lots of time figure out any of the elements.
For example, the group in the upper right. I count 7 support pads. All the peices look arched with little if any side to side role, does this mean loop?
What do you think?
Amazing pictures. Simply unbelievable. You just proved why this is the #1 unofficial CP site. *** Edited 6/1/2006 1:36:04 AM UTC by GeeForce***

Alright, here's how I see it. Hill, Twisting drop, major loop, camelback/large flatspin, helix, overbank, two flatspins/three or four rolls, cobra roll, two flatspins, overbank, station.
Unless there's some more over in the cars too, here's my idea...

Here is my take so far. Just a guess really, with height of track based on whether there are two footers or one footer for each section. Obviously there is a ton of room for interpretation. Now, with weekly aerial updates we should be able to figure this thing out. :) I wish.

I agree. Sigma you should add on to this because theres more footers down.
I'll have to say that i the best drawing of thinking where the track is compared to the other ones out there.

I would draw up more, but I really don't have a good idea of what its doing in the other areas. Along the straight-away behind the WWL building there are 3 and sometimes 4 rows of footers and I just can't figure it out. Is it a lift hill, a launch or just a place where the track will parallel itself several times?
Also the curved trench footers have me pretty confused. And I have no idea where to draw the station, personally I'm not convinced that its along the straight-away. I think it could be back by where the curved trench footers end. Mainly because the part of the track I drew near the RR looks like a possible ending to the ride with tight turns and then the single footers.
If you guys have any good solid ideas I can try to draw it up.
Well the area where the footers are close together in a circular motion by the wall to me looks like a Helix, so to me that could be the ending of the ride. Now I think they still could use the old White Water Landing Station and use it for western theme and still keep the name Maverick.
I was thinking that the park with the long streightaway could go into somthing like this http://coasterbuzz.com/rollercoasterphoto.htm?i=1053
than come around that turn on the left side and connect to the other piece.
I liked your idea, Shawn, about the curved trench area being for a helix, so I used that as the end of the ride for this version. This track uses a little more imagination, and I had to add some supports before the circular trench that don't have footers (yet). But everywhere else I only put track where there were footers. I still feel like there is a lot missing though.

Thats probably it for me for a while, my wife is having our little girl on Saturday. Add that to our 2 year old and I can bet I won't be doing much drawing. Anyway, I can't do much more without additional footers and updated photos.

In the striaghtaway you can easily see that there are at least three different paired footer turns that lead into that spot from the Thunder Canyon end of the site.
Sigma, nice work but I think the footers for the helix would be over kill. Maybe the lift goes over the station and drops into the curved trench of footers? I thought the areals would help, and they did, but they didn't shed any light on the layout imo.
I was thinking almost the same as that picture, but instead of a lift it would be a launch... the Lift would be after the first set of Elements and would lead to the second half of the ride.
