I forgot to add. On the 27th, the last launch of the day was around 5:15 i think, and the train didnt even make it to the crest, it made it past the twist and then a couple feet above it. So there must be something wrong.
I mean the new cable they got over the off-season. I didn't mean they just got it 2 days ago, I mean there might be problems that would be better dealt with if it had a day without operation.
I just got back from the park after 3 days there. They had a crane over the hydraulic building yesterday for awhile, which makes me think that's where the problem was/is. I didn't waste any time watching to see what they were doing.

I don't see why CF can't get this thing to work. Excellerator works perfectly fine. TTD has the same launch system as Excellerator, so i really don't get the problem. I know people are gonna say TTD is faster. So what they shouldn't have this many problems as it's predecessor.

I agree, especially because they've had a year and a half to get it working. I could understand last season, but now? Come on!
Is it CF or is it Intamin that is to blame with the reliability of TTD??
RaptorMrMan95,
It doesn't work only when you want to ride it. It has worked fine this year. Stuff happens and things break. They will fix it ASAP.
Do you actually think that "they" want it down? CF is doing everything possible to make that ride work.
IT IS A PROTOTYPE WITH VERY FEW RELACEMENT PARTS!
Alright, I've calmed down now.

Well I was at the park today at Dragster didnt run at all. At 4:45 I was waiting in the Magnum line when a train went sailing by.....rolled back and then didn't see them attempt to try another. All day the Ride Hosts were saying "Dragster is down blah blah blah blah, we are expecting a lengthly delay, we highly suggest you ride one of our other 15 coasters."
3 days going on four..here we go again.
When I was there on the 25th it launched and didnt even make it to the twist. They had it up and running right as the train pulled into the station after the rollback
Today is 6/30/04 at 9:25 am. Just looked at the CP cams. No one in line, no one on the platform. Waaahhh! Lets hope this doesn't turn out to be like last year! :(
Let's go straight to the Merry-Go-Round!
It's weird, as long as there are trains on the track, there is usually a line collecting outside the entrance. When I was there, many people ignored the announcements that it would be closed...I hope they get it working by next week!
Yeah, I'm with you on that, thinking that it's weird that there is no line. I'm wondering if CP is handing out something saying that it's down??
I'm heading there this weekend, and hoping that it's open.
Erikjc - you sent something to CP didn't you?? Did they respond to you yet??
They should put that notice on their website that says if TTD will be working, or not working on that day of operation.

Actually I did send something to them, but I don't think I said anything about it on here. I haven't got an email back from them yet.
Does anyone know why there's always a little group outside the entrance of what appears to be people? Is it just signs and stuff, or employees? You can see it on the webam.
It's most likely all the people walking up to entrance and asking about why its down, when it will be up, how long will it take, etc.

I remember last year they had huge signs at the park entrance That said "Top Thrill Dragster will be closed today". Something along those lines anyway!
Oh, and good luck getting a response from CP! *** Edited 6/30/2004 5:29:44 PM UTC by CurrentlyDownDueTo FillInTheBlank***
Let's go straight to the Merry-Go-Round!
This seems like a replay of last season. Last season a few weeks after the cable broke the ride went down for a very long time. Maybe when the cable fails it damages some major components of the ride, who knows. Hopefully they get it back up by the 4th because that is the busy season at the park. If they don't get it up I don't think it hurts the park I believe it helps the park. People that only come one time a season will come back next year because they didn't get to ride it. I bet the MF line has been huge these past few days because by the looks of the web cam the parking lot is full each day. I remember the signs at the entrance last season and they said the ride wouldn't open today but usually the ride would actually open around 5 in the afternoon. The same thing happen with MF once it was closed for the day for a cable replacement but they finished the swap early and opened it up, that was during Halloweekends. I guess we should just be glad that we have 15 other world class coasters to ride at the park.
278 coasters and still counting!
Yeah, I'm leaning to the side that they will not have it open for this weekend. It'd be nice if they placed something on their website if they don't see it running in the next couple days.
I am glad that they do have 15 other coasters!!
