TTD Closed Again??

It could be worse. We could have X. What a nightmare!

I just thought that the coaster deserved some love, so I defended it.

Go Ravens and Lakers, don't worry, we'll bounce back.

X at SFMM is frickin awesome, it's a must ride for all coaster fans.

IT'S ALL MY FAULT!!!

Well I blame all of the downtime on Six Flags, not the ride or Arrow. Also, I am glad hear that X is running good 'cause I will be there 15-21st!

But at the end of the day, the really annoying thing is that the park put out an expectation that the ride would be running, and then couldn't deliver.

So, how 'bout they keep a sign at the gate that says, "Top Thrill Dragster is going to always be down to technical difficulties."

Or better yet, a sign that says, "Top Thrill Dragster might be open today!"

If running one train at horrid intervals is good...

I suppose A ride is better than NO ride!

Maybe X is running good now, but it had a rough two years to start off with. I was just comparing it to TTD as far as maintenance problems go. And, I agree with Craig the Coaster Freak.
Hi people I hate to be a pain but I'am leaving for the point tomorrow and I was wondering, what's the latest update on dragtser?? Is it open/closed? I'll be there on thurs. and fri. and it was down last year (of course) and I was really hoping I could ride it this year, so if someone could update me I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

"Steelers all the way in 05!!!"

Well it's been running very well this week, but it appears it is closed now (very early!) and all 5 trains are away for the night. I don't think that's a good sign. I'm going this Saturday. *** Edited 7/7/2004 1:15:18 AM UTC by Erikjc***
I havent seen it mentioned, but on the 4th, dragster wasnt running the greatest, but, i was curious if they continued really cutting down the people allowed to enter the line so far, both times i got to ride(2 front seats before 8 pm,worked the rain and freeway just right!)they never seemed to even let the ramps fill up. and when wind finally calmed down after my 2 hour nap in the front seat line, they actually had to wait to let station fill in order to get more than front seat riders(only about a dozen of us between both front seat lines)

I was wondering if this has continued or if they only did it the 4th?

I was at the park today Dragster didnt run at all. Well, thats a lie, it did run VERY VERY VERY poorly. It ran fine from 9:00 to 9:30 but then the trouble started. It would run 2 trains then shut down for 2 hours. Run one train, break back down for 3 hours. Launch 3 trains, 4th doesnt work break down yet again. On average they got like 2 trains each time after a break down, then the ride went down again.

The funny thing is despite all the problems this coaster is having, u CP lovers are going to make some excuse as to why it's all ok. "It's running better than last year." or "It's so big, it has to have problems." All I want you guys to do is accept that CP still hasn't worked the bugs out of this coaster and that it is not at its optimal level. No excuses, just acceptance. No more denial.

This past Saturday evening, TTD was running the best I have ever seen it. We got in the park around 5:30. From then til close,I don't recall seeing it down. They were pumping the trains through at an incredible rate! But rest of holiday weekend was not so lucky!

Sunday after the storms, it was kinda comical watching the ride-ops pushing the trains around! :) All I could think of was the "Flintstone" coaster! YABBA-DABBA-DOO!!!

See,if everyone would just kick there feet a little harder, there would be no rollbacks! :)

Is it open/closed?

We all have ESP and are unwilling to give you a reading without charging you.

So, you think that you know what is really going on and the reason they are having problems? Why are you blaming CP? Blame Intamin. Blame The wind. Blame the rain. Blame the speed. Blame the height. Blame everyone here that posts except you. You are the one that is in denial!

Let's go straight to the Merry-Go-Round!

This is Azminthe... apparently im having problems remember my other login, so I had to make a new one.

But ok, its from Roller Coaster Tycoon, the vide game, it was just a joke..

OMG! I can't believe that I didn't see that! DOH! Sorry!

There should be something on the cp website that alerts us about TTD's status. I mean rather or not its working, whats wrong with it, and how long they expect it will take to fix the problem, not rather or not it's expected to run or be down because as we've said many times we just cant predict that.

There should be something on the Krispy Kreme website to tell me whether or not the donuts are hot out of the fryer. I shouldn't have to drive all the way there only to find out they are not.

perculata I think we all have accepted the fact that this coaster hasnt run up to Cedar Point expectations everyone is frustrated over the situation and I'm not making any excuses for Cedar Point.

Yesterday the problem was that they were not getting enough power, the trains I mean, the wouldn't even make it 1/2 of the way up the hill. For a good part of the day they were looking at the track right where the train sits before taking off, whether or not it was about the sled I have no idea. At about 2 PM another CP guy showed up to help out, he was younger I would say mid 20's maybe late 20's, he was Oriental, and he was dressed in pants, dress shirt and tie. He then walked into the house at the end of the launch, but not before he got a pretty good earfull from a rather angry guest exiting the line. *** Edited 7/7/2004 9:19:35 PM UTC by MichiganWolverines***

I second that idea!

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

First of all, I was there today from opening to about 5pm - There was a crane around the hydraulic building for most of the day and Dragster didn't budge. Why? Well, they wouldn't tell me (darn them! :) ) After that, I don't know what happened. It looks like they put the trains on the track though.

I only counted 5 trains on the transfers. The 6th train is being reassembled and painted green for Millennium Force ;) .

I thought that I'd also include that I waited my longest time ever today for MF. It was hot, gross, and miserable. It's such a difference in lines throughout the park when Dragster isn't operating. Heck, even Iron Dragon and Wicked Twister had a 1/2 hour to 45 minutes.

I happened to be at the park today from around 4 o'clock until around 10 o'clock. I'm pretty sure that Dragster was in the same condition when I left as it was in when I arrived- the gold train was sitting outside the station, the other 4 trains were in load/unload. Not much action at TTD today it seems...
Walt, couldn't you be a little bit more understanding? Not everyone lives within an hour drive of Cedar Point. It matters more to those people.

What does distance from Cedar Point have to do with repeat topics and getting mad at the web cam because it looks like people aren't working hard enough?
