Track officially uncovered at Breakers Express

I rode WWL around midnight in October last year to get my last ride and I was crazy. I had my hands and head in my hoodie and I was still cold afterwards. Of course it was all worth it, I really will miss that ride come summer when you need a way to get refreshed (not soaked).

well, I am sticking to my mega looper theory. I think that the footers in the 5/23/ update will be for a turn out of the station or a first drop. Also, this first piece of track in the front in this pic just screams heartline roll: www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?a=458

Yeah, it really does. I didn't notice that before. Whatever it is, I do believe it will have inversions, probably many, or very twisty. A mega looper would be a good possibility.

Thrills Around the Corner!

How much room do you guys think they have??

Anyone have a pic of the overview to see how much space they have to work with?
you don't think CP is tryin to break the "most inversions" record?

How much room in the holding area or in the construction area?

what's a "Holding area"

I'm talking about- how much room do they have for this coaster??
From what I have seen on the park map, it looks like it's almost impossible for this to be a 500-foot coaster.

A holding area is an area where stuff is held until it is needed.

I don't have a link to the satellite photo, but you can use google maps and switch to satellite mode to see how much room there is. The space where construction is taking place is the old WWL site all the way across to the swan boats pond.

That is one of the reasons that everyone who has brought up a 500 footer has had their idea shot down. However, there is more room available than you might think.

I think he means an aerial shot of CP. I have the one that from the 2000 to 2002 time frame posted on my site. It's about a 12mb file so it may take a while to d/l if your on dial-up.

The site wasn't as big as I thought it would be, I have lots of pictures of it though, and the holding area where all the track is...

I don't think that really twisty piece is for a heartlined roll because 99% of the time there only 2 rail...(like MF brake-run)

Jason Hammond's avatar

Well the heartline roll on Raptor is 2 rail, but it is Made by B&M and is structuraly quite different.

Would Wicked Twister's towers be considered a heartline element? Those are square track, but swaying in the breeze dictates the necessaty of the structure there.

I can't think of any intamin 2 rail track that is used for a heartline roll element.

He used the example of the Track used on the MF break run.

He probably means this type of track (minus the break element): http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=1253

Where as B&M's 2 rail design looks more like this: http://www.rcdb.com/ig3244.htm?picture=1

Structuraly, B&M's is far superior IMO.

I'm pretty sure all Intamin heartline rolls are only two-railed...

I want to see some supports arrive... We haven't seen that yet!!! Anyways.... I hope its gonna be a looping coaster. They need one and i don't care if it breaks the record for inversions or not. 6-7 inversions would be fine. Then they should continue with getting flat rides for a few years because it really adds to the park.

Who said they couldn't do something new. Also, that could show that if it is a heartline roll, it will be taken at a higher speed or will have more stress put on it. You never know.

That peice of track has about 90 degrees of rotation in it. I can't imagine any other peice of track other than a heartline roll that could have that much rotation in that short of time. No high speed turn that needs 90 degree banking could use that peice, to many lateral G's would be experenced from rotating that quick, plus the peice doesn't seem to turn, just rotate.
Also, just because Colossus has it one way(the two rail track), doesn't mean they havn't changed it in four years.

I remember reading somewhere that talked about the superiority between B&M and Intamin track. It said Intamin was structuraly superior.

-Adam G- The OG Dragster nut

Not between the 2 listed... B&M's is obviously alot stronger seeing as it is prett much a triangle track with that boxed spine thingy.

Jason Hammond's avatar

I was only speaking to the 2 rail track. I would agree that the "square" or "4 rail" (which ever you want to call it) tops the list.
