Based on the triangular track and location of the footers, that's my best guess.
The triangular track is generic Intamin track. They use it on almost every ride (depending on the ride design of course). Even Millennium has some triangular track, and its not an Aquatrax (unless you rode it last weekend.)

My question is why is the trak at breakers express and not on site.??
Are they afraid of dirt damaging the trak or something....
Probably just nowhere good to put it. They still have to get through the busy season, which means they can't use the soak-city lot to store it. And you can't easily get it into the MS infield. With other general construction still ongoing you don't want to be dumping it on site yet.

^Yeah, the parking lots won't have enough room for people during the peak season if the track was put there.
It could very well look like this.

Believe me, I'm fully aware that the triangle shaped Intamin track is pretty generic and has been used on various types of coasters. I'm just saying, based upon the circumstances at hand, an Aquatrax seems to be the most likely answer to all of the questions. Most (notice I did not say ALL) Intamin coasters over 200 feet have square shaped track (and not the rectangle shaped as shown on Atlantis Adventure) at some point during the course of the ride. If this coaster were to be truly massive, we should have seen some square shaped track by now.
Coaster Count: 147
There not done putting in footers. So we might some more huge footers in the weeks to come. No it is not a Aquatrax for 2007. We are getting a coaster.

I think something like an "Aquatrax" would be just what CP needs. I'm over the "tallest coaster" war. Millennium was amazing but Dragster was a waste. It's time for something completely different to blow everyone out of the water (so to speak).
The Amazement Park
I, for one, see putting in an Aquatrax as a bad move. I've said it before and I'll say it again: CP doesn’t always have the best weather for riding a water type ride. 3 out of the 6 months would be considered to be unfit or unsafe (colds, pneumonia, etc) to ride a water ride where as a coaster can run all 6 months. That's of course not to say that there wouldn’t be a small, SMALL percent of people who would be stupid enough to ride a water ride in mid 50° weather.
So as a result of weather, the ride wouldn’t get as many riders as say a coaster would. Some of the things that affect ridership are rain, storms, winds, etc and not temperature.....since most people can handle a cold wind as appose to being wet in 50° temperatures.
So I say an Aquatrax would be a bad decision and a coaster would be the better choice.
Besides.....a red water coaster??:)

who says that it has to be over 200ft? I'd be happy with something like speed monster, it only has box track on the launch section, the rest is all triangular.

How many pieces of track are on site now? Maybe 20 at most? If the project is going to be "massive" I would think that there will be a lot more track that is going to show up. There's probably less than 5 percent of the track sitting out there. Thats like saying this isn't a coaster because we haven't seen any lift of launch track show up yet...surely that track should be here by now
I agree completely with TTD 120mph. Putting in an Aquatrax really would be a bad move considering the rotten weather Ohio has. Many times it would be too cold to ride it, and this would be a huge investment for a ride that is only going to be popular 3 months out of the year.

There has been 100 ft, give or take, of track unloaded. We could very well see some square track. They're going to be unloading this stuff all season. This isn't all we're getting. We might get some sections with box track, we might not. Same with flat track.

Arguing with a coaster enthusiast is like wrestling with a pig in mud. After a while, you realize the pig enjoys it.
How wet do you really get on that Aquatrax? From the pics I've seen it doesn't look like you get wet at all. Has anyone here actually been on Atlantis Adventure that can testify as to just how wet you get? Maybe if it is an aquatrax they will be able to control water levels or jets/misters to controll whether or not you get wet. I think they do that with the Matterhorn at DL. I've been on that ride when it's cold out and the water at the end of the ride doesn't come into play. When I've rode it in the middle of summer you can get pretty wet.

Exactly, we just have to wait and see if these kinds of track show up.

I myself am for the idea of the water coaster, just because it would be something different that Ohio has never seen in all 3 parks combined. Maybe Cedar Point wants to build the tallest and longest Water coaster of its kind. Plus the sign does say we are going in a new direction, so this could be our new direction with a watercoaster. It's still early to tell though, but right now this looks like a water coaster. TTD-120, I know you were joking about the idea of a red water coaster, but why not? If this is a watercoaster, maybe it would feature the train going through mountain tunnels.

If it was an actual coaster that had a little part, like Shreika, of water, like to get you a little wet, but not soaked, then during September and October you could either drain the water and/or just turn it off.
^Then the ride looks dumb. When photographing a ride, the last thing you want is something not running.
