Track going up now

As mentioned in the Webcam thread, red track is now being installed on the "down" side of the tower. If you look closely, you'll see that there is also a new support that runs from the base of the tower up at a 45 deg angle to the track. There is no other structure for this support, just a long pipe, so the track will actually support the support.

I bet we'll see another go up closer to the tower since there's another support that is flying solo, if you will. It's just a horizontal piece coming straight out that temporarily being supported by a come-along, strap and chain. The track will also support this support as well.

Are they putting track up now to get it out of the construction site? Since they're primarily working on structure now, did they install track to get this new support in place?

It's getting really intersesting now.

I agree, finally somebody who wants to talk about the construction instead of their opinions about what the new ride is going to be, Do you know anything about Michigans Adventure?

It also looks like there are more crane extensions being unloaded by a smaller crane there in the foreground.

Deanne, your right. I think we'll see a lot more track going up in the next few weeks as well as vertical construction.

I would guess the announcement isn't too far off.

I think I'll have to make a trip to Michigans Adventure this year. I just have to ride ST! :)

Did anyone else notice that the track seems really high near the tower? It has to be a good 75 feet in the air before it goes vertical. It was stated before, but it sure looks awesome now that we can see it in real-time.

Hopefully Michigans Adventure gets a new ride because Shiveringtimbers is the only good one, did you guys know that the Dodgems removed for the new ride at CP is at Michigans Adventure, they just moved it there.

This is CP discussion not MA I've seen all your post and all you post about is MA. This site is about CP, not MA. If you want to talk about MA go join Coasterbuzz and talk about it there.

Whats wrong with talking about Michigans ADventure, If people know stuff about cedar point maybe they know stuff about MA. also people are so rude on these discussion boards if you dont know anything about MA then dont answer.

I am pretty sure this forum is to talk about"track going up" not you nagging me for what I post, SO WHY DONT YOU TALK ABOUT THE TRACK AND NOT ME?

Wow! That is a really huge pullout. After seeing in person how tall the tower is (which is about 200 ft) that pullout is going to start at about the 200ft mark on the way down.

This brings up another question though... if the track for the pullout and pullup for that part of the tophat is red, where is this white track going? Also, it is interesting to see even more extensions for the crane being brought in.

It's one thing to post to a Cedar Point website asking about a sister park (Michigan's Adventure). It's another thing to post within a forum dedicated to construction at Cedar Point asking about MiA. But to do so within a thread that is specifically titled "Track going up now" about a possible ride at a completely different park makes you just plain...dumb.

I think it's fascinating watching the park grow.....track piece by track piece (to stay on the subject). I've been going since 1974......when I look at the park map I bought back then...it's amazing! It's awesome to have the webcam to watch. It's awesome to have these forums to connect with others who are into the park / coasters so much. Then I don't have to drive my friends crazy with coaster talk...(most of who can't understand such enthusiasm) Can't wait to go this weekend and check out what we can't see in this view!

Wow pretty harsh, here is an idea take a page out of your book and talk about the ride not me everybody is complaning about me for talking about CP but everybody is talking about me instead, pretty hypocritical.....I only wish i lived close enough to Cedar Point to go and see this construction in person.
