Track ARRIVES!

I find watching any of the construction cams about as exciting as watching the grass grow. But, then again I'm not really one of those that needs to see a footer poured or a crane moved to excite me.

Maybe because there's not much to see at this stage of construction. Would you prefer they zoom in on one of the piles of dirt?

I'll say it so the guilty don't have to. Someone among us fanatics has pulled out the Register Cam to see if this was just possible. Anyone want to own up? B-)

Fanatics. geeks and coaster nerds all mean the same thing to me. And, that is people who don't have much of a life and are more concerned if a pile of dirt moved, rather then getting out of the house to enjoy life.

I don't find the construction cam very exciting. Even when they start work on the entrance, it'll be hard to see from the security tower. I'd like to see it placed on top of the food stands like it was on the stadium with WindSeeker. The cam was right next to the construction site and you could see everything that was going on.

I want the construction cam to be close enough to see a construction worker take a leak behind a building.

***Edited to sound less creepy.

Maybe we can get a live streamed version.

That facebook page is amazing compared to this website. I know, I know, such a blasphemous statement. Can't wait to see some vertical construction.

They should also move the hotel breakers cam. I dont see any point of looking at half of MF and dragster just sitting there. I like the top of dragster cam ok, but you're right they should move the parking lot cam closer to the site :)

You're insane. There are about 300 pictures on that FB page, some of which are unrelated to CP, and many of which are lame.

Compare that to the 1000+ images here, including the exclusive behind the scenes photos, video and exclusive interviews.

No comparison.

But the real question is - if that FB page is so awesome compared to here, why not leave?

I agree! It would be cool if they had 2 construction cams. 1 for the entire layout of the area, and 1 that gets moved as the ride's construction progresses. That might be a little too much work though.

Now that I'd dig.

They had 2 with windseeker, so I don't see why they can't do that with gatekeeper as well.

A web cam is only interesting if it is close enough to see things change every now and then. Never understood the Breakers cam either, a much better place for it would be a view of one of the pools with the beach and boardwalk in the background.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

At first I liked that cam because it showed like 8 coasters or something like that. But the problem is that it's too far away from any of them to show anything interesting, much like what Pete said. The other problem with the Breakers cam is when the sun is facing the camera you can't see anything because of the glare

Taking into consideration that a roller coaster has a fairly larger footprint/layout than Windseeker, I don't think it was as much work for Windseeker as it would be for an entire coaster.

Of course, that is a pretty good argument FOR going with 2 or more cams on the coaster construction project

Remember the first piece of Maverick that was installed? It was actually a section of the turn after the drop. How's that for odd?

I think it has something to do with removing the crane once the last section of the structure goes up.

I would think it's not odd, because if you have to pull track away a little to squeeze a piece in, that's easier up high, where the weight of additional track isn't pushing on it.
